Hey guys! In this video I show you guys how to replace the rear rotors, pads, and calipers on my 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I needed new rotors and pads at the time and figured to upgrade to drilled and slotted rotors with carbon fiber brake pads just for the hell of it. This video was actually recorded last year and I'm just now releasing it. I know my uploads aren't always consistent, but I'm trying my best to catch up on all my backlog of content. I'm hoping to get back to the stage where I'm making weekly uploads again. Unfortunately you won't be seeing a video for the front brakes since I recently sold my Montero, but I do have a few more videos to put out for my Montero. So stay tuned and I hope you guys enjoy this video! Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, & SUBSCRIBE! THANKS!

No problem man! Yeah they could be a pain to work with, but glad I was able to help! Unfortunately I don’t have my Montero anymore, but have a backlog of content to upload for the Montero that I’ll be posting soon.

Nice it’s definitely a great set up. Of course! Unfortunately I had to sell mine due to the frame rotting and it was getting really bad. I’m actually selling my Injen IS CAI, full Siberian polyurethane bushing set, and front drilled/slotted rotors with carbon fiber brake pads still new in box if you’re interested?

Didn't need new calipers. Just needed to remove those stuck slide pins, clean them and lube them or just replace and lube them and your pads would've worn evenly again. Those need to be removed and cleaned every brake job as part of maintenance

I figured lol I honestly had a hard time removing the old pins and figured to just get a new set of calipers instead of trying to rebuild it. Especially since my uncle had the same OEM calipers on since he owned it before. Also it was more content to show on how to install the calipers lol I would say now I know for next time but unfortunately I don’t own the truck anymore.

Thank you a lot man but stuff is still complicated I have a 02 montero sport I payed $450 for valve gaskets due to oil leak now I gotta o2 sensor and brakes I need to fix
@DarkRoast

No problem man! Oh dude the valve cover gaskets are a pain to do. The intake manifold has so many different size bolts it’s hard to keep track of. I tried doing a DIY video on it, but I was struggling lol. Eventually got it done, but man it was something lol. Good luck and hope you’re able to get it done!

@@DarkRoast just a check up I got my brakes and now I’m getting new rotors for all 4… I also have to get new shocks and struts I advise you to stay on top of it because these are notorious for that type of issues pray for me buddy😂!

@@keepingupwiththejones3047 Nice! Did you ever get the new shocks and struts? Oh I had plans for a full lift kit, but unfortunately I was never able to complete it because I had to get rid of my Montero. The frame rotted away and the cost to weld the frame was worth more than the truck lol
