This was the first job in years that beat me. Nothing I did would get this thing to move. Finally gave up and had a shop remove it. Appreciate not making it look like oh and it just pops right out. So easy anyone can do it.
I enjoyed this refresher lesson. I’m getting a little older and can’t do what I used to but you exercised my brain as I followed along. I found it a bit funny when you couldn’t break that bearing loose from the backing plate and had to resort to heat and an impact chisel. Reminded me of the good old days! Thanks for not editing that out. Did you put the star wheel in backward? The long side of the spring is designed to clear the teeth on the star wheel. You had the spring on top of the teeth. 🙀 Thanks again. 👨🏽🦳
I have a 2013 Camry and had to change the rear bearings. This video is 100% accurate how difficult it is to separate the bearing hub from the plate. A torche and a heavy hammer separated it. But damaged the back plate. Now my emergency break pads slightly squeak.
Thanks for the tutorial. Im no mechanic but my hubs are super bad and i have to replace them real soon. I would have been a lot more worried about doing it myself if it weren’t for your video so much appreciated.
Holy hell i love these videos it makes me laugh so hard when in the next scene you see a bunch of liquid sprayed onto the hard parts they cant remove easy, " now we brought in the skid steer with the jack hammer attachment hopefully we can get it off " damn I'm still cracking up I swear I thought he was gonna bring out a 90 pound jack hammer 😂😂
Can I remove the wheel bearing without removing the brake caliper bracket? My bracket is seized and the bolts are stripped. So I'd love to just remove the whole thing all together
Good video. I will buy new the plate of shoes and need less time in the repair it. Other I try is with a sliding hammer, like use with axe and try pull out. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why would you put that rusty rotted backing plate back on? You save the customer $20.00 and that backing plate is gone in a year or two and then you have everything getting shitty. Just an observation.
