It’s not difficult to replace Xperia Z1 Compact LCD screen. The Z1C display replacement can be easily finished shown as our video. Replacement Parts For Sony Xperia Z1 Compact : witrigs.com/el0r7 OEM LCD Screen for Sony Xperia Z1 Compact : zegsu.com/s/di81q
Is it possible removing the screen - if not broken - without breaking it, or will it crack in the process of going underneath with the picks? The glue seems to not be sticking on the bottom properly anymore so I was thinking about just renewing the adhesive and putting the screen back on.
I did what you said in the video, bought the parts from you and everything went great!!! But one thing, I forgot to remove the protector that was in the back of the LCD... Is that a big deal? I suppose it's not. Thanks.
Hi. My device model is Xperia Z1 C6943. It's possible replace LCD screen using this tutorial? Others videos recommends disassemble all device parts, starting by behind. What the difference between two methods? Thanks.
This video is for the xperia z1 compact. But yours are the xperia z1. The replacement is totally different between these two devices. For the z1 compact, you can disassemble from the front, but for the z1, you should from the behind. You can learn from this vedio Sony Xperia Z1 Teardown
is it ok if you don't remove the battery first? because it is dangerous if the power is present on the board even it is turn off. it can cause shorts if you attach some connections.
Hello , Can i replace lcd without removing battery? is it safe to replace just lcd ,without removing battery first ? i have xperia z1 mini , and i dont have hot hair gun , and i can remove my lcd without using hot air gun , do i need hot hair gun ?
With the help of this guide I was able to successfully fit a new screen, which works fine, but the one problem I have is that the glue gasket did not seal the screen down properly at the bottom of the screen. Any tips on what I can do other than get a new glue gasket sheet and refit it? I am thinking about heating it up and then holding it in place until it cools, but not sure if that will work. I need to do something as the bottom of the screen is sometimes working it's way up enough to get my thumb nail under it. Thanks for any constructive suggestions. I'll update with any success
I heated the edge of the phone with a hairdryer and then placed a reasonably heavy couple of books on it and left it for about 30 mins. So far so good. :) other than that it would mean buying a new gasket seal or some narrow double sided tape and re seating it. :)
Thanks for adding this video, was a great help. Phone worked again for a while but today again touchscreen didn't responded. I noticed that glass actually wasn't glued well. I entered it with OTG cable and restarted it, a bit pushed down the screen and works again. Can you advice if I should glue it somehow back or what can be problem? thanks
I think it's the trash quality of displays. Chinese clone, right? Mine worked good for few weeks, then started bleaching out on hot areas (the replacement does not have heat protection foam unlike the original) and now the digitizer starts failing once a week and I need to restart via cable. This sucks. I should have bought the original for 100 bucks more but it would have saved lots of time.
I have to say the sensitive part is when the glass IS removed and you're going to place the glue! Do not get over excited that your phone is just a few minutes away to become as new. Take the time and be SURE that the glue is placed at the correct place!
Hi, I do not have that heat blower you are showing, is it possible to use hair drier instead or do you recommend the same type of stuff? Can you recommend one of those to me from your website or some others? Thanks.
Hiya I recently bought the LCD with digitizer and replaced it myself. It worked just fine, but I left out the "silvery shiny" frame (right at the back of the screen) as it was pulled out and bent as I tried to take the screen off. Again, my phone worked just fine, untillll I dropped it again, last week. It shattered quite bad, but I'm not sure if it's got anything to do with the silver frame. I'm just gonna buy another LCD+digitizer, but I just wanna know if its important to attach the silver frame, and if I do, how should I do it and where to find it? Thanks very much x
thank you so much for this video you just saved me a lot of money got quoted £120 to fix it by the shop I think Sony wanted £200 but by watching this and buying the parts myself I managed to do it for £37.65 half hour of sweating thinking I'm going to mess this up and that was with a genuine Sony screen
You'd better to change the entire screen to avoid some screen issues if you have no the professional skill and can't make sure to make the glass attach to the screen tightly in the right place.
Wit Rigs i think i'll just get a new phone all toghter. on mine the headphone jack is broken as well, and when the screen already costs half as much as the entire phone...
I used a Wagner heat gun...but only for a couple minutes, but since the screen was cracked I already had an entry point. I used a computer repair screwdriver (super small head) and used the chipped up point as an access, then ran it along the edges heating the next area before moving to it. Came up super easy! Less than 10 minutes. One thing to know though, there's a tiny pad below the screen I thought was a part of the device but wasn't. Just be careful.
shopkeeper was saying 4$ for just replacing lcd, man i dont want to waste $4 on just replacing lcd, i will do it myself maybe in 2 days then i will tell you the result :)

jose sanchez We have no plan to do the Z1s screen video. And they are different. Did the Xperia Z3 Compact has the same easy construction in order to replace the LCD Screen? And where I get the adhesive sticker for Z3 compact? ;-E Thanks in advance für the info!!
Florian Lemonnier Temperature : 75°-95°. The repair tools are ready at www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact. If you have not a heat gun, you can use the hear dryer. But it is hard to control the temperature.
Hi, just replaced display according to your video, but now I've got a problem. If I start the phone, It works properly, but when I leave it for few minutes and then unlock it again, touch screen doesn't work, It kinda touches itself everywhere. If I restart it, It works well unless I lock it and turn of display again. Any solution?
My Z1 compact screen is crack as in the video. Which parts do I get? I can't identify it from the website and the video. And what other tools are recommended to open the phone and hold it there? As I don't have those at home
Naoki Chia You need get the LCD with digitizer replacement part; click here www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact. The tools you need are showed on the right of this page. If you have no a heat gun, you can use a hair dryer.
hi. my phone is only xperia z, and have also broken screen.. can i possibly do that? without opening from the back first and removing all like every other videos i've seen?
Catherine Panaligan No, you still need to open the back and remove other parts. You can check out here to get the repair guide www.ifixit.com/Guide/Sony+Xperia+Z+Display+Assembly+Replacement/25501. Hope it can help you.
Hey, I managed to replace the screen based on this video, and it seems to be working perfectly, but after a couple of hours, it's just stop receiving any touch. I need to pull out the sim card to reboot the phone, and after that, it's working again. Turning off and on only the screen is not helping, i have to reboot the phone. Did I do something wrong? Or what could be the problem in this case? Thanks in advance
Newbie with a phone over here... Question: I just made these steps...but when I was gonna put the new screen, this one didn't had any electronic stuff behind it... any links where I can purchase this? Or can you tell me by which name I have to search this? I bought a LCD screen for my Z1 Compact and this is not it...
Hello Wit Rigs, I need your help. I have a xperia z1 compact. the screen stopped working and I can not unlock. This happened after using it much underwater. What could be the problem? Do I have to change the display? thank you very much
Matias Ormachea It seems it is broken due to water damage. Water damage may break the display and motherboard. If the motherboard is good, you can solve the problem after replacing the display.
Wit Rigs I think the motherboard is not damaged because the smart-phone operating properly, the sounds work, I can take pictures, the snooze alarm sounds, I think I can perform all functions, just the screen does not work, otherwise is it wise to buy a new smart phone? thank you very much
my back light isn't working (causing my screen to be very dark but still working) is there a solution you could give me? a replacement part or what not? help
whats the white plastic u putt there before the screen? My wife broke hers and i found a Cheaper SH on.. so i ghues that wont come with teh white thing...does all new ones have that?
1. It is the front housing adhesive sticker. 2. No. You have to buy this one when you replace the broken LCD screen. 3. You can check up here if in need www.witrigs.com/oem-front-housing-adhesive-sticker-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact
Sean Sternberg No. But some viewers said theirs are. Only professional phone maintenance personnel with original replacement parts can make 100% sure of its waterproof capability.
hi how can i repair my sony xperia z i have a problem with touching the screen in left corner side how can i repair it should i pay or buy these materials to repair it for myself only ?
arvin cunanan You should replace the touch screen. It's not easy to replace only the touch screen by a DIY repair work and you should replace the whole LCD screen and touch screen. If you don't have confidence to replace by yourself, you can send it to the local repair shop for help.
khairul hafiz It depends on your skill. To keep the phone waterproof, you need original adhesive sticker and professional skill. It is not an easy task to apply the sticker perfectly and to compact the screen to the phone tightly.
+Arunava Mukherjee There is a little bit different. See the Xperia ZR teardown video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vz7Dwu_ItpM.html
Tulasisarge As a retail store, Witrigs can't show the SONY LOGO on the picture. So we have to hide the LOGO by PS. In fact, all parts we offered have LOGO as the official.
If I change the screen of my xperia z1 compact it will come with the screen protector that gets easily scratched? Also I have a problem with my xperia I don't know why my earphone jack doesn't work I play a song then I change the song and starts playing with the loud speaker
kristian cedillo 1. The Xperia Z1 Compact screen we offer comes with ASF, which is original part. www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact 2. If the headphone jack stops working suddenly without impact or water damage, it seems that it is a software problem.
Dominika Stasiak Yes, but it will be hard to finish if it is just a DIY repair work. You should ask the professional phone maintenance personnel for help.
I cracked my xperia z1s (Tmobile version) but i'm not sure what parts i need to buy, the lcd display or the digitizer touch, or both, can you help me, my phone works, but half of the screen is not working by touching. thanks.
maalzagi Your touchscreen is broken. But it is difficult to replace only the touchscreen by a DIY repair work, since LCD screen and touch screen is attached tightly. If you want to repair your phone by yourself, you should buy the LCD screen with digitizer( also called touch screen) like this:bit.ly/1FAQNiS; or you can ask the professional for help and replace only the touchscreen.
Great video, but i have one problem. I replaced the screen successfully, in spite of that, the picrophone not work at all. So i thought that was my wrong that i broke the flex cable, so i replaced it but the microphone is still not working. Hopeless i began to look for the answer in many blogs, there were many people with the same problem but nobody knows what´s happening with the fu***ing microphone. I decided to look for here, help me if you know something about this. Thanks.
I change the screen and it won't display anything. The screen is black. the phon powers on but no image. happend ith two different screen replacement what have I done wrong?
+jeremy dred The phone can only be waterproof again when it is replaced by the professional with original replacement parts. It is hard to make sure its water resistance if it is just a DIY repair work.
I bought a phone screen off ebay just the glass ( i thought thats what i needed ) soent my last money on it and now i am finding out i need a digitizer and a whoole new LCD screen is that true because my phone still lights up and everything wouldnt the screen just need replacing??
speedyguy12345 No. The sticker is poor quality. Or the repairer have not compacted the screen after installing. Or the middle housing is deformed due to over heat. Original Xperia Z1 Compact front housing adhesive sticker: www.witrigs.com/oem-front-housing-adhesive-sticker-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact
Laurence Aycardo No. But some viewers said theirs are. Only professional phone maintenance personnel with original replacement parts can make 100% sure of its waterproof capability.
My xperia Z1 screen is cracked and my touch is not working but my display is ok. So, what do I have to replace? The screen glass or the whole LCD. Please help.
My sony xperia z1 model is : C6903 So is the video the right video to change the cracked screen I saw many videos for repair z1 screen So is the video the on for C6903
Jacoh DL No.They are similar but not identical. Original Xperia Z LCD screen :www.witrigs.com/replacement-parts-complete-lcd-screen-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z-black-oem
It depends on the repair skill. It can only be 100% waterproof by the Sony professional. But it is hard to guarantee the waterproof condition by the DIY repair.
