Excellent step by step tutorial and good video work. I’ve been looking for something explaining both belt replacements and this is the best video I’ve found. Thanks 👍👍
Very nice walk through, have the older green version, blew the motor and replaced with 17.5hp version, more power. But need to replace the blades now so great video. Watched it all even though only needed the blade info, looking at the same set you put on.
Thanks Ben. I have one of these mowers. I don’t remove the wire guide at the rear for the short belt. I just loosen the nuts until it swings ahead enough.
Great video......except for the positioning of the blades ......at 31:56 Any belt driven ( anything ) will never stay timed as your suggesting in this video. Unless the blades were " chain " driven. The belt slips...and is designed to slip to prevent damage. Therefore the timing goes out the window ! Cant keep them timed.
Hi Brian. The drive belt is suppose to be tight when the tensioner pulley (blades) are engaged. Reduce the engine throttle to idle first and then disengage the blades. If that doesn't work, the owner's manual says to simply shut off the engine and then disengage the blades before restarting the engine again. Hope that helps.
