How to replace the LCD panel on your Dell Precision M4700 laptop.
Here I replace it with an AU Optoelectronics B156HW01 V.4 (matte screen), the other option is a B156HW01 V.7
Next video is how to setup your software to take advantage of the screen.

Thank you for how to replacement about LCD panel. Today I replaced LCD panel of M6700 and while that working I was watching your video. Especially you gave advice that take off connector by careful, I just did it and succeeded to replace LCD panel.

Thanks dude. I've got an M4600 and it's not exactly the same but close enough. Mostly I came to see what you did about the wicked strong adhesive on that LVDS cable. I think I'm going to buy a spare cable just in case I ruin this one taking it off the monitor. Cheers!

Hi thank you so very much for taking the time to do this video. Can you pls tell me if I am unable to find this particular screen what specs I need to look for to ensure the screen is compatible with my M4700. I need matte screen with minimum resolution of 1080p (1,920x1,080) not necessary that the screen is 95% gamut.

Wow this is a long time ago. I am hoping to get a response to help me resolve my problem. Hats off for the well explained video, I have been looking for this for a long time. Mine is a issue of compatibility, I have an LP156WH4-TLP1 screen and I was wondering if I can upgrade this to the FHD 1920x1080 screen on the video. If so what do I need to change on my DELL Precision M4700. Do I need a different cable or it will just work. Then on the video, you did not put on your laptop after installing the new screen, so that we can at least awe at the beauty of the upgrade. Otherwise, I am in trouble, please help me.

Hmmm, I'm working from memory here (I now have a Precision 7520). I *think* you just need a replacement cable from the motherboard to the LCD panel to suit the higher resolution panel, but I'm not completely sure about that. Sorry I can't be of more help than that.. :)

Quick question, I also have a Dell Precision M4700 like yours but mine shipped with the 1366 x 768 screen. Can I buy one of these panels to upgrade the screen to 1080p? Thanks!

+Mark Leach Maaayybbeeee..... I haven't seen a 1366x768 Precision, but I'd say you will need the correct LVDS cable from the motherboard to the LCD panel at the very least. Do you suppose it'd be possible to replace the screen with a 144hz one for a later Dell model so long as the connector is the same? (30 pin)

I have a model with just the dual mics within the screen bezel. I found a site that sells a webcam and a compatible bezel. Is it possible to swap out a mic for a webcam?

+Ben Owens Hmmm, I'm not actually sure.. These laptops are designed to be very modular (as they have many configurations to choose from) so It *should* just plug in as far as I can see. I can't guarantee anything though, as mine has the camera already and I've never tried. Let us know what you find if you do try it! :)

I'm not sure what parts would be needed unfortunately, I've never worked on a Precision laptop with touch screen, but if it was offered as an option, I assume the parts could be obtained online from the usual places.

@@NearFarMedia I took a look around and it seems to just be a drop in replacement with the bezle of the device The components needed for touch to work is in the glass seems to be easy, but don't know for shure thanks!

Same question here. Cable should be LVDS cable DC02C002900 (HD+/FullHD) DP/N 0NV9R0 not quite sure if it is necesarry.. maybe if you have some missing wires in 40 pin connector.

Mine didn't come with a camera. What can I do to add one? Can't find any thing online on how to do it

You will need the camera module, the plastic LCD screen surround and the cabling to reach from the camera to the motherboard and maybe a few other bits and pieces. Have a look around for the manual, Dell make it freely available as a .pdf and it should show how to remove and install the camera.

Unfortunately I have no idea, I haven't had this laptop for a loooonnnggg time now. The GPU can support that resolution, so it might just be a matter of finding a compatible cable that can attach to the motherboard connector. The performance at that resolution may suffer though, the GPU is a little old now.
