A tip for making more money on youtube... make the video shorter in the ending. so that I do not have to skip. Your ending is too long. We know how to place the wheel back, as long that I did not loose the bolts xD. thanks for all the great info
So when tightening the crankshaft pulley up they never explained how to stop the engine turning as they had already removed the crank locking / timing tool ?
Impact gun, or remove starter motor and fit a locking plate in which locks the flywheel from moving👍🏻 it’s not interference fit so shouldn’t be to bad. What’s the worst that can happen 🤣🤣🤦♂️💥
Great video guys, just explain me please, what is the purpose to unscrew the 8mm screws on the camshaft pulley at 12:34. Is that step necessary? One more question please: for what purpose you unscrew the same 3 x 8mm screws again at 16:22? And what is the purpose to make reposition on the tensioner pulley at 16:30? Thank you very, very much for your patience and answers
I am not a mechanic. So my understanding is this. If you leave the three 8mm screws tight, when you apply tension to the belt and the timing pin is locking the cam shaft, the belt will be stretched between the camshaft and the driveshaft. Then if you remove the timing pin that is locking the camshaft the stretched belt will pull the cam slightly out of position. If you loosen the three 8mm screws on the cam gear it can now move independently from the camshaft; the tension should be evenly distributed around the whole belt. I think you go through the process of loosening the cam gear, tensioning the belt, tightening the cam gear, rotating the engine then loosening, removing tension, re-applying tension and finally tightening the cam gear to make sure the belt has evenly distributed tension and the engine can rotate freely. Hope this helps.
Thanks , very professional explanations with torque wrench moment values ! appreciated , just I'll prepare to change for one R. Megan 1.9 DCI and next one Logan MCV 1.5DCI .
All manufactures are guilty, they dont engineer, they just assemble on a production line. If youve grown up on A series engines you were spoilt. They dont want you fixing it, they want you to buy another car. If it was engineered you wouldnt buy a newer car.
Followed your video. Thank you very much for your time In doing this video. Just done my 2015 Dacia sandero. On the sandero, no need to remove fuel filter. To remove top mount, fuel lines have to be removed. The fuel filter is further forward into the wing void, instead the Dacia has a extra plastic liner and a strut to remove. No need to move the alternator either or pump pulley. It does have cut outs In the inner wing to get the second part of the top mount out. Thats about it. Good luck all. Oh and its 21 grooves between camshaft and fuel pump.
Good video thanks. Two corrections I've noticed need addressing- 1: The crank position pin cover screw, is an E14 female socket NOT E11. 2: The bottom crank timing mark is 90 degrees to horizontal NOT vertical. Thankyou
Hi there IS a little mistake when you rotating the Belt with wrench...you say that you turning anticlockwise direction but thats mistake...right is it clockwise direction.
Hello @stuartadair. Sorry for the music, it's hard to find some that pleases everybody. We hope it did not stop you from replacing your belt. And by the way, subtitles are available. 😉
No it's not. If you find it more difficult with the engine in then you are clearly not a mechanic and have no business being anywhere near a timing belt.
