In this video we show you how to restore the grille in your 1982-1992 third generation camaro #chevy #camaro #restoration #restore #painting #paint #bodywork #bodyfiller #classic #vintage
Looking forward to seeing it. Have a 91,68, and 81. Have a 13 ZL1 but it is pretty much done. Still learning my way around the 3rd gen. Thanks for the vid.
Third Gen projects aways catch my eye on RU-vid. I owned three at one time but, I sold one and keeping my two. One is a convertible. That was awesome work you did on that grill. I had to do the same thing. A little fyi, a countersink bit make a perfect divot for the front of the holes. Not saying you did it wrong, everybody have they way of doing things and think of different ways of doing things. The bit will do it all, knock off the raised edges, roughen it up and give you a divot. Put tape over it and don’t press in the divot and push the filler all the way through. But again, you did a awesome job. And I made both sets of my blisters functional with grill material that looks exactly like the fake stuff that’s on them but with real holes, I even cut some perfect holes in my hood for heat to extract. Keep up the awesome work.
Sounds like a great way of doing it. If you like third gen content, this is the channel for you. Funny you say that about the blisters. I am dropping a new video on mine today! Thanks for watching!
The black I used was gm 8555 black base coat and the red was gm victory red, can’t remember the code off the top of my head lol. Then I just used clear coat over top. Base coat was sherwin williams and the clear was Tamco.
The holes are from a front license plate holder being screwed in on delivery the state this previous owner lived in prolly required front license plates…them 3 holes are not factory
