In part 3 of our series of 'How to rewind an electric motor', our rewinds expert takes on the arduous task of fitting in the grouped coils using lots of patience, a soft mallet, and epoxy glass. We have done our best to document every stage but every rewind involves hours of work. This is why we have condensed the process into bite-sized videos.
Please note that this is NOT a comprehensive guide. Due to the vast amount of different motors and winding patterns, the rewinding process can vary greatly. However, it generally involves cutting the original windings out of the motor’s stator or armature and replacing them with new coils made from wire of the same basic type and gauge.
We will try to answer any relevant questions where possible.
