Stator coil is the component that generates electricity to power engine and electronics in a motorcycle and in most of the two wheeled vehicles this is often ignored.
Stator coil upgrade can result in more power to support extra lights and electronics that you may load your motorcycle with. Rider often think of putting larger sized battery to handle heavier loads but battery merely stores electricity, but stator coil is the actual generator that creates electricity via engine.
In India, upgraded stators are not sold for most of the commuter bikes but for super sport bikes in the West, stator upgrade kits are sold which readily available. However with a little elbow grease, any stator can be rewound with a thicker copper winding wire, which will result in increased ampere rating but lower voltages. If done correctly within limits, this can result in a much better functioning stator that gives more usable power.
