Totally agree with this.. I went out on my bike and stalled it twice on a busy junction. If I had practiced that probably wouldn’t have happened. Now I always go to a car park and practice for 5 mins before any journey.

It depends on the country. Here in Netherlands there are 3 exams (1st theoretical, 2nd by the school in a parking lot with cones and the 3rd one on the street/highway) so if you manage to pass all of them and have the license, there should not be a problem for you to use it on the street after. Of course that you shouldn't try crossing towns/countries in the 1st week.

Hey man, I’m all the way from Scotland and I’ve been looking for a video like this for ages and just couldn’t find the right one, until I stumbled across your series of episodes. I’m 19 and I’ve been obsessed with cars and motorcycles my whole life and I’ve been driving cars since I was the legal age (went for my car license first as it was the most practical with work and stuff) and now I’m ready to try out the two wheelers, and I just wanted to say thank you so much for these informative masterpieces! Your content is majorly helping me out man, it’s making stuff so much easier and I think I might be out on the road as soon as next week on my new 2 wheels! Thanks so much man 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I mean it makes more sense to give the motorbike right of way, but don't trust drivers. Assume every car can't see you, and half of them want to kill you. A light tap in a car means a dented bonnet. A light tap on a bike is likely a hospital trip

I've been riding for 30 plus years and a couple of tips that were taught to me when I was learning. Never go faster than what feels comfortable. If you have to think whether you can make a manoeuvre then don't do it, never feel pressured by other road users and filter only 5 mph faster than the traffic you are passing. You will build up on experience and start to relax when riding.

Hey man. Recently came across your channel, im 25 years old from Norway and i dream to ride a motorcycle. Your videos are really helpful and easy to understand and to settle down the nerves. I've never rode a bike before, i bought a moped type bike a day ago Yamaha tzr, you probably know it looks like a motorcycle but its essentially a MC skin in a moped. Just to start practicing the basics because im scared. My plan is to try it a bit first and then take a course and get a lisense for normal motorcycle. I will definetly be watching your videos to learn more! Thanks man and drive safe.

I'm enjoying these videos, they are helping me alot, I'm just nervous a bit, I do have some experience riding, as I have a electric bike, jot exactly an ebike, as it rides like a sports bike, just doesn't have clutch, and both brakes are on the handle bars. I'm just nervous if I accidentally do something wrong while trying to learn clutch, and drop my Ducati Panigale 959, ya, I went big, but only cause I've been riding a bike very similar to sport bikes, minus the clutch and foot brake.

Don’t do what I did. I started by taking a g310r for a test ride. Did a few laps around the parking lot, felt good and took it for a ride on the street for about an hour. Everything kinda just fell into place and felt right for me, as if my body already knew what to do. I say don’t do what I did because I understand it takes more learning and effort for most other people. Just wanted to share my own experience. Dropped my bike a few times (mostly taking turns too wide and slow), learned from it, and here we are

Second thing is when I turn, the turn trajectory is so much different than what I had in mind and I feel like I don’t know how to control the bike to go on the trajectory in my head. I hate, absolutely hate, the advice to turn your head and look where you want to turn. That's great advice for an expert and horrible advice for a beginner. My instructor kept telling me to do that and when I finally did it far enough to satisfy him I dropped the bike and fell. Looking where you want to turn requires a person to already have internalized riding a motorcycle. The bike has to be an extension of oneself before you can do that. Riding has to be automatic before you can turn your attention away towards something else. I didn't even realize I was falling until after passing 45 degrees from the ground because my gaze wasn't level with the horizon. It's as ridiculous as telling someone who is trying to learn how to type, "Don't look at the keyboard! Look at the screen!" Great advice for experts. It's not gonna work if you've never typed before.
@PetroHead
@PetroHead 3 месяца назад
Only reason bike dropped is because you were riding too slow. No one drops a bike going faster than 10-15 mph. I do admit though.. MOST instructors suck.. he should have observed your speed (I could be wrong but this is my hypothesis)
