Very nice method of teaching these. It’s always good to have a different instructor teach things. Sometimes the different way it’s shown or described just ‘clicks’ and the student ‘gets it’. I discover many folks, likely in fear of striking wheels, place their freeleg down well clear the employed leg which of course creates a new set of problems and certainly doesn’t look good. This method of thinking about the pinky toe right up there tucked behind the employed might just avert that whole distance mess. Then it’s just a matter of the angle of the skate when the weight gets on it. Great teach!

you a freaking amazing skater...make it look so effortless and then i get on my skates and BAM!!!!!! And one thing i forget is I am not 15 anymore ...im 45 and the older you are the harder that fall feels...I used to be a dare devil on skates when i was young...backwards forwards jumps spins...and the now i can barely transition from forward to back while having anxiety and panic attack...so frustrating however these backsteps are hard as well even in dance skate

Great lesson but with the black background - it was hard to see from your midriff to your legs - what the positions of them were - perhaps later tights and top to see what your hips and legs were actually doing. (excellent lesson) sea ya Ray H Kenyon
