I am normally an indoor skating and really good. I just recently decided to skate outdoors. So much fun. However I skate with a broom in my hands to sweep the debris out the way. The neighbors love that I am cleaning the streets. Lol
I'm watching this after breaking my wrist while I was extremely drunk while roller skating at my local skate park I'm 3 days into my healing period and I'm now beginning to realise the importance of these type of videos and safety gear I'm not proud of my accident but its definitely knocked some sense into me about just how dangerous skating can be
In the Midwest in a farming community and I have to literally drive places to skate. I generally choose bike trails or large empty parking lots. An elementary school down the street for me has a great one I’ll skate in on the weekends when kids aren’t there. There is a roller rink an hour away from me so I never really go there but when I can I like to. Roller skating where I live is next to impossible tbh.
Getting outdoor wheels was the best thing I could ever do for my skating journey! I figured I would invest in them, (because as you know, in these COVID times) all the roller rinks have been closed so outdoor skating is my own option haha
I've been a street skater for roughly my whole 168 days of skating this year and any time i've skated before that. Getting Fundae wheels has changed so much for me, I wouldn't reccomend them for beginner street skaters but i'm able to cruise fast and still jam skate!! Street skating is a great skill to have because it keeps you very mindful of yourself and your surroundings. :-)
We do not have sidewalk at all in sone areas and there is no rink here. I go to the skate park and look like a weirdo where all the teens are and I’m in my 40’s.
For newbies! I have the quad impalas, and bought red glitter Atom Pulse 78a 65mm wheels and they are so amazing for bumpy/ rough asphalt streets, side walk cracks, debris like fallen leaves and lil pebbles, ****some**** sand patches, grass (to walk on), lil twigs and such, thinks like tiny acorns, yeah! I’ve been using them since March 2021 - super good investment for y’all
Dont want to scare you but most impalad break down within 3 months. I had that happen and there are many more reviews. I do not recommend impala at all, and more people should know..
@@casualviewer2000 The plate is made of aluminum on the vegan ones, for small and very light weight people like me, the skates are too heavy and less handy. Clearly not my first choice.
@@dailyjoyventures yeah but the only point i wanna make is that most impalas break down. The heel separates from the skate, and there are a lot more stories where i come from
Thank you so much! I've been taking my new skate journey like my driving instructor taught me how to drive. She would constantly put me in un ideal situations to make me more comfortable and reactive to them so when they pop up I don't freak out. This is puuurfect! 🤗
Can you please show staggered feet from the front or back? Everyone always shows it from the side and I'm confused about whether my feet should be more in line or hips' width apart.
Our next video shows how staggering your feet can get you through many scenarios. We shot many angles of it but focused a lot from behind and even slowed down the footage so you can really see what’s going on. You’re definitely not going to want to miss it. Here’s a little preview ru-vid.comVcZ4txKmytI?feature=share
Okay so I absorbed your video and hit the streets out there and I kind of have a couple of things that i want to add that you might find helpful that I don't think you mentioned. So I gained speed to go over those Lego bricks at the end of the curb. But then out of the corner of my eye I saw a car lol. And i had to veer off my path and hug a stop sign. Also I am definitely a beginner and I think that what scares me the most is not being prepared in the change in surfaces as far as how the street feels and how the ground feels. I know that's just something that needs to be experienced. But not knowing how the terrains going to change make it a little hard to move from the sidewalk to the street easily even if you stagger. Also if you fall in the middle of the street its a little scary. Knowing how to fall properly is one thing. But trying to figure out how to get your ass up after you just ate it on some weirdly uneven ground is a little embarassing and scary. However I really enjoyed your video and it helped me understand a lot of things that I would have had to do for trial and error so thank you very much for that
Those look like the wheels they came with. They said (in a previous video) that they aren’t suitable for a skatepark, so maybe that’s what you’re thinking of? The wheels on the Rainbow Riders are soft enough to use outdoors 😊
I did not change my wheels, they are great for the outdoors as they are hybrid wheels and can be used on various surfaces. These skates are not recommended for aggressive skate park skating.
When I first started skating I had 6 year old Chicago skates I was going down a little hill in the park there's a wooden bridge at the end I got really fast hit the bridge sent me flying landed full body weight on my elbow then my hip hit my elbow it was sprained I didnt know you could sprain elbows
We hope you are enjoying your Beach Bunny skates! The wheels that come on them are great for outdoor skating- you can switch to a softer outdoor wheel if you'd like more "cushion" or an even smoother ride. I recommend the Energy outdoors which we have in stock now! 😊
Hi moxi I really want to know when the beach bunnies will restock I would want the watermelon ones put they seem sold out everywhere pls can u let us have an idea when they will be restocked it would be very handy 💕
Thank you for this video. Beginner here, quick question the Moxie s your wearing here how does the sizing run for that skate? I want that style next. Thanks 👍
The only bridge I've crossed varied between tiny gaps and 2" gaps throughout. I definitely had to side step across that bad boy. There was no consistency between the gaps, so it wasn't safe to go across with speed💜
I am wearing Atom Gear knee pads, they are discontinued and are no longer made. They are comfortable but sadly their days are numbered. I will be looking for new pads soon, might have to get the Moxi Lepard set!
i ordered skates and im impatiently waiting for them to arrive. ive only indoor skated my entire life and im super excited to start getting into outside roller skating! im so glad i found this video cause you explain it so well and make it look so exciting!
Yeah, I started skating outside, and my road isn’t the best, and I fell flat on my back so hard my glasses bounced off my face!) from hitting what was apparently more of a slope than I thought 😬
Crys in UK pavements. Wondering if any UK skaters that have gone street skating? The textures very so much and I want to try, I just don't know if its possible
Loads of people go street skating in the UK. At least in the cities. I’m in London. There’s loads of street skaters. And we don’t have the best roads or pavements. I’m finding outdoor skating challenging, but hope I can get confident enough to join them.
I totally ate it once attempting to go over those yellow bumps made for blind people - they are SO important for people but theyre so hard to get over 😭
Sometimes going slow (stepping) or taking the curb way out (jumping off the curb) is better than taking it straight on, depends on how comfortable you are with speed!
Awww don’t get discouraged. Skating outside can be dangerous but there’s a lot that you can do to minimize that danger. hi I have a question, on my beach bunny skates the front wheel on the left side is acting odd, like it makes a weird noise and idk what it is... I keep loosing the wheel and tightening it and idk anymore it’s just acting weird do u know why?
@@friedchicken5245 , it can happen if too much sand and grit gets into them or just because. Sometimes the reason can’t be pinpointed. If changing bearings and wheels didn’t help, perhaps, it’s a truck issue. You might want to reach out to Moxi’s customer service. They’re really good about responding.
My problem is I’m too scared to do it without protective gear and the gear alone is as expensive as my skates were…my skates took my a year to save up for
That's valid! Sometime's you can find affordable gear from local community groups, rec centers, thrift stores, etc. Even stores like wal-mart will have some more affordable options, although they may not be the heavy duty ones, they can help give you the confidence to get out there. We hope you're able to get skating safely soon
