Howdy and welcome to this week's video! Here's a link to consider shopping for stuff I use in this video www.amazon.com/shop/autoedits/list/3DK63XK3I5IL6?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
Hey man, I don't know if you remember me or not, but I'm the one who asked you about changing a timing chain. Well, I found out it wasn't my timing chain. It was my starter that was making all the racket. Pretty dang funny to me. I'm just glad it wasn't my timing chain.
I do routine maintenance on my junk too so it will last longer and perform better. Lol😂. My wife appreciates it. Good simple vlog! Glad to see the Jeep again!
Up here where I am, I find I need to rotate every 3-4K. But I think it’s because that’s zero freeway miles. All twisty mountain roads. So I end up with cupping on the front tires. Even my wife’s car goes through tires quicker than normal. Looking forward to see whatever cool trip it is you are going on.
Hmm, if your getting cupping that soon... check the shocks. My Ram would do that even with good alignment and then I swapped in the Icon shocks and it never cupped tires again.
@@AutoEdits I don't see much at 3k, but if I go farther I start to see it. Even my tire shop says to do it at 3k up here. My shocks do have 25k on them now, but that really should not be enough to cause an issue. Though possible worth checking.
If you ever feel like making the trek out to do the Alpine Loop in Colorado, it's a real great place to get a ton of great veiws back to back. I would be happy to do it again if you wanted to get a group together. Glad to see the JK back in the garage.
Very timely vid Jason! Ours is due for a rotation and this will be the first one on the new tires. Patagonias currently. I was just thinking about which position to put the spare in.
Because of the different loads on my bicycle tires (and the fact mine cost between $50 and $67...), it's NECESSARY for me to rotate them!!! Frankly...I don't think I could lose enough weight to keep the rear tire from wearing out faster than the front one🤣🤣🤣! Now I'm off to enjoy...my ride! Aloha!👍👍
Howdy, I fully appreciate your energy and vibe with the cars having male or female personalities... this Jeep is decidedly an "IT" I've never owned a vehicle like this that is so gender neutral so I embrace "IT" 😂
My mechanic is adamant about sticking to a four wheel rotation because of directionality with my BFG KM3 tires. I think he is completely off base. What say ye?
@@AutoEdits that’s a bummer to hear. I liked watching what you did with it cuz I myself have a 95 Tahoe that I’m working on. Hope the new owner enjoys it and appreciates what he has.
Here's the inflator kit I got from PowerTank powertank.com/collections/tire-inflator-with-gauge/products/tig-9320 and the spacers are from G2 www.extremeterrain.com/search?keywords=93-73-150&generationId=&vehicleGroup=Wrangler&vehicleType=Wrangler
Bought my JK used and the last person didn't do a 5 tire rotation. I'm hesitant to start doing it with one tire being larger, having more tread depth than the other 3.
That's a tough call... I feel for ya. I would try and get that spare in service and if the Jeep "feels" funky... just swap it back out. It will probably do fine.
Agreed, it will be fine. I didn't put the 5th in rotation for the same reason and then one day had to due to a flat and the Jeep did just fine despite the other tires being close to end of life and the spare being brand new.
@@AutoEdits @JeebusMJR The other tires are just under 3/4, so I guess I'll do it and see what happens. Sounds like I had an unnecessary fear. Thanks for the encouragement!
