In addition to all the other comments about it being how not to install.. you even have the vent installed the wrong way.. the non return flaps should be vertical.. it wont take long for the spring on the top flap to fail.. then it will stay open all the time.. and cold air Will blow in.. and super easy for those wasps to come in to..
I normally don't like watching home life videos when I'm doing a serious job but this one of the family is sweet!! I'm looking for professional, per code, done right instructions. I'm moving on
Ideally: Don't use flex ducting. Don't install under vented soffit that will suck in the moist air from vent and cause mold. Don't have uninsulated duct in cold ceiling space, especially horizontally.
you all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Blaze Kannon i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hey it’s the guy who asked you if fumes went straight out or not , I figured a way to do the same thing you did just added a ventilation vent on top of the roof instead of on the siding and it works perfect. Thanks tho 👌. I believe your way was easier tho less work
Hello fellas, i am thinking of installing a hood vent with the proper vent tube in the near future, why does this become a fire hazard? The grease coats the tube and the heat from the attic could cause a fire?
The moister will be drawn back into the attic through the gable vent as air is drawn out through the ridge vent. There should be at least 4 feet distance between these vents.
So sorry to share this video does not contain best practices for the completed work. It's okay to not get things right, the difference between done and done right leaves room for everyone. Maybe just edit title to share "I did something with a kitchen exhaust."
Thanks for both of your videos. Very nice family. I'm getting ready to install an AKDY island range that I purchased from Home Depot. It arrived just today FEDEX - box looks to be in good shape so hopefully everything is in original, not broken, not cracked and not scratched condition. Very much like yours with the glass ttim. I'm just watching all the DIY videos I can to put together all the best ideas and from yours, I will definitely be sure to plug in and test it all before installing. Pretty obvious to most probably but I doubt that I'd have done that so, thank you. PS I'm hoping that at 00:19 seconds in that you're wearing a red MAGA hat.
Where do you plan for the grease to accumulate over time? Just wondering, ppl should think about this, the typical stove vent (residential) will surely have grease in the smoke(depending on what one cooks with), it can create a fire hazard.
Flex duct and dryer vent products...quite a scary install! I wouldn't want to say anything negative, but there are a couple major fire hazards in this install. Please be aware! The grease filter is just a filter, meant to reduce grease build up, not negate it.
@@syfodias-jedimasterRigid metal ducting with a smooth interior - keeps the grease from building up and or burning through lesser ducts. It's actually a minimum requirement for fire safety/building code. Very scary to see recommendations stating otherwise.
Thank you I am trying to get rid of my charcoal and vent this in my kitchen and I can't find any videos where the stove is not on a outside wall. So thank you.
Guess this wasn’t inspected. A flex duct, and that long? Dude, no. And why did you use a soffit vent cover on a vertical surface? I don’t know man, this was all bad. 🤷🏻♂️
You're supposed to be 10 ft away from any air vents in my state, not always possible but you're like right next to it. That will be sucking the moist air right back in you're attic space. Plus I'd never use that thin foil ducting. Also the ducting should be insulated. Don't teach people if you don't know the right way.
He used a dryer vent as the duct instead of smooth, galvanized steel. Not only is this not to code, this is a safety hazard. It will be a combustible collection of grease.
what baffles me is having such a wealthy home you have two ovens lmao. I do this type of work but on my familys home where none of the floors or walls are the same, every room is falling down so I just go at it. If I was this much of a baller I would just pay someone to do it especially if I owned a home so nice no shot would I risk fucking up the building code
lots of experts in the comments. Just so you know I think you should have used diamonds to cover the screw heads and your ducting should be made from depleted uranium, transparent aluminum at a minimum. Crazy you didn't install a chemically based fire system in the attic.
@@HomeFreeFamily They can never answer that other than saying hes a racist or some other nonsense. All the hatred for a person they've never met or had any part of their life impacted by him cant see that this is not natural and that their feelings have been hijacked by political propaganda.
Wrong ducting. Wrong exterior vent cover. Please DON'T do it this way. Everything he did is WRONG. U tube hacks. Just stop. you don't know what you are doing
