In this poker strategy video PokerCoaching coach Aram Zobian walks you through exactly how to run deep in big poker tournaments.
Aram Zobian is no stranger to running deep in big poker tournaments as he made the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event Final Table taking 6th place for $1,800,000!
He talks about what exploits he uses in poker tournaments against particular opponents and discusses that when he has two passive players on his left he will start raising 100% from the button as he expects to only ever face a 3-bet when they have strong value hands.
He discusses that you should consider how your range would play on each street rather than just playing your specific hand. This is an important concept that takes poker players from losing to winning players.
On this Poker Coaching channel we cover a weekly poker topic to help improve your poker strategy!
In order to take your poker game to the next level it is vitally important you learn all the nuances of the game.
Do you know what ranges of poker hands you should be playing from each position? When should you 3-bet, call or fold? When is the right time to make a hero call or a huge bluff? Do you know how to play preflop, flop, turn & river effectively and how should your poker strategy change depending on the street? What difference does it make if you are playing multi-way vs heads-up?
We answer all of these poker questions and more in our poker strategy videos. You can find them all on this playlist:

What is the best place you have finished in a live tournament that has over 1,000 runners?

finished 8th out of 1,500 runners about 2 months ago! Thank you for all that you do, couldn't have done it without you!

~60th out of 10K runners in the GIant a few years ago. And it's weird because I feel like I'm a far better player now but haven't had anything like that run since.

I would guess the 3betting range should be pretty strong KK+, AKs, some percentage of blocker hands like ATo, KQo ... maybe some percentage of a suited connector like JTs.

Looking at the second hand, villian having AJo, I think he should've even let it go preflop, no? You told us about the tournament structure and how tight your 3betting range is so I think folding AJo preflop OOP vs 3x raise is the way to go. What do you guys think?

pocket 10s+, AJs+, he's raising 1/3 of this stack oop preflop, yes he could be trying to steal, but don't think he's not seeing the river or folding

Made it top fifty of 2303 players and won into a tournament for 75k. Then got unlucky in the 75k game and went out early unfortunately. But I'm getting great at running deep and winning satellites

I think KQ in the last hand is probably a reasonable bet 3-way but there's no universe in which you shove KQ on the turn into a range that x/r flop multiway and then double barrels turn,

So you can run deep when you have people calling all ins with top pair third Kicker. Good to know!

yes. that’s actually how large field tournaments work. find the donks that will stack off with nothing and take their money.

You can run deep when you have opponents folding 100% of their range on the river.
