I chose not to send the marshmallows because I didn't have enough, and took out the cryo packs because nothing in my box was perishable. Just did it for demonstration if somebody really wanted to do that. It doesn't make a difference though, everything else was packaged the same way :)
I just found you and am really enjoying your videos. I love the pace and your sense of humor and look forward to trying some of your recipes! I especially love this video since I'm going to be shipping to my son this year and it will be a first for sending baked goods, so it was really helpful!
I am new to your channel and love the "packing cookies" video. I also made your Hot Chocolate Bombs. So fun and easier the more I did them. The cardboard between the cookies is a winning idea!! My box will be going from OR to Kansas. Merry Christmas!
I am confused. How was your friend in Texas able to just pull open that cookie box like that when in your video I saw you secure that cookie box with a sticker? Did she pre-open it before hand/ before video? I am only asking because I plan on mailing baked goods to all 6 of my sisters in 3 different states.
Hey, girl! Thank you so much for the video it was very helpful! I’m getting ready to ship off some cookies to a new client. I have never shipped anything edible. So your advice is extremely appreciated! I was thinking that not only was I going to add your advice and your techniques. But I was going to use my Seal a meal machine to make sure the cookies stay fresh. Because I’m going to mail out this clients product priority mail. And that takes 2 to 3 business days. I’ll let you know what happens! 😁😉
@@ettenylrosa1332 So sorry, my crazy life got in the way. It went really well! My client was supposed to get her order in three days but it arrived a day early! Her cookies were not broken upon delivery! I made 12 heart-shaped sugar cookies and 12 oatmeal chocolate chip. I cut to size on a cake board(card board with an extra support later of paper) I applied to the back side of the cookies, making 12 cookie groups. Lol! Then I sealed them! All of them, arrived to the customer’s home intact!! After I sealed them I folded the plastic around each set of cookies and tied a gold an cream colored twine around them. Added the finishing touches; taping twine in place adding pop corn around cookies, added fake roses 💐and cute bakery themed stickers. I took photos if you want to see the process. And after photos. In the end, I don’t think it was too bad for my very first experience mailing something edible to a customer! 😁😉🌹🌷
@@denisehenrickson-dear7605 hii please reply..its very urgent..i am making the royal icing cookies for my friend and sending him to another state..so do i have to freeze that icing cookies? Because it takes 2-3 days .will the taste change?? Its my first time that i am making royal icing cookies and shipping them ..so plz help me ..i am sending it after 3 days
@@harshitasharma4818 I’m not sure how to answer this question how are you wanting to mail them? Because even if you freeze the icing it’s gonna be thawed out by the time it gets to your recipient!
I missed the premier, but I'm curious if you could use a Food Saver to wrap them? I can't think of a reason that wouldn't work out, but I was curious if there might be one!
That’s exactly what I was thinking! I have a client in TN. I’m going to use these techniques plus the seal a meal to keep this order fresh! I’ll let you know how it goes!
The order went great. It was my first time mailing anything edible. The client and her family loved them. And she said they were fresh when the came out of the sealed bag. Apparently her family were tied on which cookie they liked best. Lol! It was a great experience (not cheap to mail) for both myself and the client. I'm so pleased it worked out! :D
Specifically for the marshmallow; is it important to be airtight if it will be on shelf/in package for a few days? I guess, what’s the shelf life for homemade marshmallows?
I chose not to send the marshmallows because I didn't have enough, and took out the cryo packs because nothing in my box was perishable. Just did it for demonstration if somebody really wanted to do that. It doesn't make a difference though, everything else was packaged the same way :)
@@SugarGeekShow But on your video you packed the cryopack than put the paper in. When your friend open the box it didn't have the ice pack and you put the ties on the end of the cookies not in the middle. Plus, your cookies were laying side by side not standing up. Then you put a sticker on the box before you put it in the bigger box. Just saying!
Was just wanting to send my Army son some cookies from Maryland to Texas. I was afraid of chocolate melting, so I love your solution to add Cryopaks. Only thing is, it should take about a week to get to him--fingers crossed the Cryopaks will keep things cool enough for the duration. Thanks so much for the video--I love all the mini packing ideas!!
How much would you say you spend on shipping and packaging for each package sent out ? How much do you Charge for like say 1 dozen cookie after packaging ?
Help: I live in Florida and want to ship Meringues to friends and family. My worry is moisture/stickiness and bugs. Open to cost effective suggestions. NOTE: shipping is 2-3 days avr.
Not sure if any one already asked but I was happy that the recipient showed the unboxing and I was looking forward to seeing how the ice pack worked but when she opened the package there was no ice pack!! 😮
Great video, thank you, some questions I hope you can answer: do you pack frozen cookies right away? Will there be condensation when wrapped up and might the cookies get too soft? Do you freeze cookies in bags or can you freeze in pyrex glass containers? If you use anything other than flat rate boxes, how much did you end up paying for this box you sent to Texas and did you tell USPS the contents are perishable? Thank you so much for your answers 😁👍❤️
They work, I just did it for demonstration. If you're worried about them getting things wet then just wrap them or put them in a plastic bag. I ended up not needing to put them in there because nothing in my box was perishable.
Wow, amazing, fun + in my own backyard too (NW PDX). Who knew? Just found you on RU-vid and enjoying your programs. You are most entertaining, even the bloopers were fun to watch (even though hubby thinks sugar is the last thing I need or should watch). I love love Love your sense of humor!!! Keep up the good work + best to you and Chanel, this holiday season and beyond. WHEN CAN I BUY YOUR COOKBOOK? Can’t wait to try your bundt recipe.
Thanks so much for this super informative practical video! This is my first year doing a mail in cookie swap so now I feel ready. 🎉 Including the unboxing was the perfect ending and proof your methods work!
Not sure you can call it “proof” that her method worked since the box that arrived was clearly not the same as the box that she packed. (The ice pack was not in the box when the recipient opened it.)
I have a question for you. when i was a child we enjoyed the flavor of anisette toast during this time of the year. i can't find them in north carolina. they are great for teething babies, disolves easily when they come in contact with saliva so no choking to the infant. which is what i will need for my first grandchild in 4 months when she begins teething. the anisette cookies with glazing are awesome. do you have an idea in your bottomless recipe tin?
Here's a recipe... www.allrecipes.com/recipe/10226/italian-anisette-cookies/ I'm going to have to try them because I love the taste of licorice and these cookies are made with anise extract, which is a licorice flavor.
