In today's video I share how to properly Scotchgard your couch and upholstery. Protect your fabric sofa from stains with this incredible protect! We use a Green Machine to clean upholstery, carpet. Love that little machine. Thanks for the Scotchguard information. I've heard there is another product that does not have the odor & is water-based. I use that product on our outdoor furniture & it works great.

Thanks, it was very helpful. I have a new sofa that I want to protect from staining. I will buy that Scotchguard bottle. I really liked the Rowenta steam cleaner you were using. Could you please tell me the model of this device?

Thanks so much. Wondering if you knew about removing surface scratches from a solid wood table (with a coat of matte varnish/poly?). My daughter and everyone else are up in arms about "my" abuse of that nice table.Help!

I just scotch guarded my sofa with two light applications waited 6 hours and poured some water on one of the cushions it penetrated the cushion was this suppose to happen or was it not suppose to penetrate the sofa. If so what did I do wrong I followed your video i only waited 20 minutes before applying the second coat

Which Scotch Guard do you us: Fabric Protection or one of the Water Sheilds? I couldn’t tell the exact one, and I need to apply on my new sectional.

@@AfterTap I had the same question - so the Fabric Water Protection ALSO protects from stains? That's my main concern! I also notice a new UV and Water Protection in a yellow can...I wonder if it also protects from stains?

I haven't experienced this!! I would say keeping back at the right distance when spraying is important and not scotchguarding too often. It really use great once or twice a year. I've had this couch 4 years now and doing this method, no problems yet!

Hi Dennis! It's actually not to clean the couch but to get the wrinkles out. It's just a steamer! You have to be careful when steaming a down sofa like mine though because you can't have any moisture or the feathers get damaged. Hope this helps!!

So I can't speak from personal experience but based on my research, yes. That being said, you'll want to use Scotchgard OXY Spot & Stain Remover quickly afterwards.

Hi! I've been scotchguarding this sofa once a year however, the website suggests every 6 months or after every professional cleaning if it is more often. I would also argue it depends on how often you use the furniture you'd like to do. Hopefully that helps, thank you for watching!

Why wouldn't you simply launder the cases in a washing machine, dry them, then scotchgard the pillowcases on say, a clothesline. You'd just need to iron the shams inside out after the scotchgard dried.

These RH covers actually aren't recommended to be removed for washing! Great option for other sofas though!

Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing said that Scotchgard, a spray that protects clothing, fabrics, upholstery and carpets from stains and other damage, was safe and that the chemical compounds pose no health risk to humans.

However you need to be extremely cautiously if you choose to use it. These are the listed hazards: Extreme flammability, Can cause drowsiness or dizziness, May shift the oxygen in a room and cause suffocation. As mentioned in the video, I recommend using outside if possible!!

Hi Ry, you have to be so careful choosing your cleaning products! Luckily, they are always improving but the more often you can use natural options and keep the windows open, the better. Totally respect your decision not to use this product!
