@marcosdlgd I am not an engineer so I cannot explain exactly how the meter works. But there is a little pressure bar on the bottom of the meter that rests on the mesh when you place it on the screen. The weight of the meter itself causes the pressure bar to move the dial. I'm glad to hear you're a big fan thanks for the support. Good luck! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

The fact of the matter is the mesh is supposed to be stretched, allowed to relax, stretched and allowed to relax again. Then stretched to tension. After that you can’t lose much tension unless it is due to simple mesh wear which requires replacement. Mesh only has a certain amount of elasticity before it will tear and not stretch anymore. On an automatic I would recommend roller frames. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

@nike850 Sure can. You need a much stronger, more rigid frame for higher tensions. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

Check out this cool #screenprinting video about screens and mesh tension. See how a tension meter is used.

Hey there. Did you ever make the video on how to re stretch old manual frames with the oversize rollerbars?
@CatspitProductions
@CatspitProductions 10 лет назад
LOL... no. I never got the materials donated that I needed. That video was done a long time ago obviously and I was doing a lot of videos with samples I would get. I don’t get many anymore. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! www.catspitproductionsllc.com/ - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/

Hi, two questions 1.- How many hours you recommend to let relax the mesh afuera the final tension? 2.- How many newtons you recommend for color process works? Thanks in advance.

+María Elena Pruneda Normally we relax the screen only about 15 to 30 minutes in production. Any longer and we'd have trouble keeping screens in shop. Commercial stretchers do it for less than 15 minutes if at all. If you're doing CMYK on tee shirts then 20 Newtons is fine. If you're doing something more technical you may want a roller frame with higher tension. Hope that helps some ;) Thanks for watching. my suggestion is based on FACT, Pay for a retensionable frame, all mesh loses tension over time, No mater what frame it is affixed to! Where dose that leave us(screen printers)? Wood/metal frames,American or import mesh/frame? Why achieve a ultimate tension only to watch is deteriorate over time and throw the mesh away. mesh is retensionable! the higher price of a retensionable frame will pay for it self.

Thank you, I like your videos, but I think for the amount of information shared on this video you could've just went straight to the point, kept things simple, and cut the video shorter to about 3 minutes. You're quite redundant and repetitive, like a teacher in a classroom. This is a video on RU-vid, so I can keep replaying the video as many times as I want..

You're welcome. But you hit it on the nose. I am teaching screen printing through videos. I am not here to entertain or try to keep your attention if you're not interested. The reason I repeat information is I get less questions that way. I actually respond to every comment on my videos and having to answer questions that are answered in the video is very time consuming and redundant in a bad way. Also remember not everyone has the same aptitude or learning ability as you. In fact many of my viewers have told me they like when I repeat info and include more info than I may need to. It makes it easier for them to understand what I am trying to teach through video. Also the videos are not scripted and I make them in a casual way that makes them relatable. People know I am not a professional video producer and they appreciate my style. It's the reason my channel has grown as big as it has. Thanks for the input but remember there is a reason for the way I make these videos and it's just my style. You can always skip around the video if you like but you're sure to get much less out of them that way. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

@@CatspitProductions Hi Jonathan, thank you for your response :) Sorry, I didn't realise that you had already replied a similar comment that I made on another video of yours. Forgive me if I'm may have been too critical, it's just a personal prevalence. I do things differently in the screen printing part as well, but you have lot's of valuable knowledge on your channel that I can apply in my way. Do you have clients abroad? My workshop is based in Bali, Indonesia

@@burning-ocean You're welcome, no worries ;) Yes, I get a comment like this every now and then. But it's all good. Yes, there are different methodologies in screen printing especially from different parts of the world. Long table printing is popular where you are whereas here in the States, it is not. I'm glad you enjoy my videos and still get something out of them. I appreciate your support. I do sell equipment all over the world but not as much as I do in the US. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment.
