I've had my cast iron skillet since about this day in 1968. I don't remember exactly which day after Sadie Hawkins Day in 1968 but it was at the very beginning of March. Seared steaks and pork chops in the skillet are how we've cooked them for a good many years.Thank you, Kent, Shannon and the pups!

Another good video. My wife bought an antique butter churn, which I recently restored. We are in are 50s and just got back into cast iron. I noticed you start out with oil, then butter, will keep that in mind. Being that I'm disabled now I'm doing the cooking and my wife works as a nurse, (HERO). Needed something to do and pulled out the old cast, and refinished those to keep moving. Started using them, thanks to you and our 12yr old loves the flavor of the food. You and Shannon, stay safe and keep the video's coming.

I did the same thing. Went from building concrete swimming pools to being disabled and building meals. Came across an old, crusty cast iron pan and cleaned it up, only to find that it is Wagnerwear brand, made in Sydney, Ohio. It’s glassy finish defies anything from sticking. ..( too bad the company doesn’t offer cast iron anymore but if you find it at a yard sale, grab it.)..

Chuck eye is my favourite cut of beef, along with the first few rib eyes, where the chuck is separated from the rib. When I had my own butcher shop, found folks didn't want to buy these because the aren't the pretiest. Shame, dammed if they were going into the burger, so they went into my belly instead. Sometimes I would share them with my staff, but there was no guaranty
