I’m a LP for JLE but I’ve learned so much from you about Securement. I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your videos. God Bless for the game that you have been blessing us with. respect Mr. Massey an all at Western Express
You are such a good instructor..i really like flatbed hauling..my trainer thought that i "do too much" but i feel too much is never enough...i am anal about securing my loads no matter how long it takes. I always try to learn more..ive learned so much from you in just this one video!!i am now trajning my future husband we are a team . I want to be a flatbed instructor for women..THANK YOU
You're amazing man , i just started the flatbed but they don't train me properly . I am learning way more from your videos . keep posting these videos pls
Joe, when i first started driving it was with Western. The load securement training has stuck with me ever since. I still remember the "f#ck you" speech lol. Recommended several people to your company and they are succeeding very well due to the program. Thank you.
Hi There! Quick Note! Important Note! That is... • You have the straps on backwards! There is a reason why the straps have a RED LINE that runs in the middle of it. If that line is broken, the strap is no good Violation 1 DOT Will FINE YOU • You put the straps OUTSIDE of the safety side rail They NEED TO BE INSIDE of the safety rail Violation 2 DOT WILL FINE YOU
Feed it in like u did but then pull it through then pull end through between handle and where I feed it that way u can pull it b4 tighten it and it’s lil less cranking and after u can fold it and stick it under strap and tarp and it will hold it self
Thats the more proper way to do it and I teach new guys to do it like that... I dont agree with how you hook your strap hook to the rubrail but is legal.... I do it your way but most of the time I just strap them at the bottom without doing the x around the coil and then have a strap pulling back and one forward is a lot faster and works just the same. I was inspected coming out of Saukville, WI and didnt have any issues.
Rub railing straps hasn't been legal as long as I've been driving. 20 odd years. If the train hits anything, it cuts the straps. The x became a requirement in 2004 I believe. You just got lucky.
Great videos you have done. 👍 One thing I don't always see is full PPE (hardhat [without baseball cap], vest, and ear protection in loud noise level. Keep up the great work!!!
Good job except for no Web and should be on the outside of the rub rail the rail is to protect strap from in pack from accident keep up the good training videos. 😎😎😎😎
Wow! I’m not a trucker, but with this step by step video and the clear and detailed info I the video, I think I could do this! I have a question. I don’t know if anyone will even see this... but, do you guys check your load periodically to see if it is still secure? Do you have to undo all the bungees and straps from the tarp every time?? Just curious.
Constantly checking mirrors for loose tarp. Check tightness of straps every time you stop by tightening winch. Everything comes apart and stored when unloaded.
@@jodiencarlisle4781 You're welcome ! Hang in there. I recently retired from 40 years of trucking, 30 as owner-operator and 10 as local hourly driver. Don't miss any of it, except all the great people I met all over the USA and Canada.
will i loose weight doing flatbed? seems like a lot of physical work which is better than dryvan that is sit and drive. about to pick up my first flatbed load monday.
calistoga trailers have their own problems with the benefit of no tarping. A flatbed with tarps is the most versatile and economical open deck operation.
