remember the teeth always move apart when doing a 10° downward tilt. left tooth away from center line of wheel right tooth away from centre line of wheel.
On a 520 Oregon grinder there is a tilt vise, but no markings to know how many degrees. Do I tilt vice all the way? When tilted, the top plate angle changes not corresponding to 30° degree setting on vice. Do I eyeball setting of vice angle aligning with mark on top plate?
Yes, also, you are correct. The top plate changed about 2° it's up to you if you want to compensate for that. At 30° it will be approx 28° I would not worry about that 28° is close enough to 30°
Hi full chisel chain with 10° is suitable in hardwood it puts a compounded bevel angle reduction in hook giving more metal support for the working corner. If you have a grinder with it won't hurt to do it.
