Hi lee, when I wrote the comment about culturing cali black worm, I thought your voice sounded familiar, now you mention Cheshire Aquatics I know why I know your voice, we used to work together nearly 20 years ago next door to Cheshire Aquatics when you had Lupo, small world!!😃
@@ukcrestednewts Merry xmas to You to Lee, are you liable to have any wild type Triturus cristatus next year? I realise yours are a mix of dominant and carriers for albinism but I really like the wild type, also are the still flying? ATVB Andy
Hey mate, can you talk us through any changes you make over the course of the year? Do you move them to a terrestrial tank for winter and hibernate them? Do they stay in water all the year round? Thanks Stephen
Hi Stephen. Most of the crested newts will remain aquatic all year round in captivity but if they show any signs of stress in the water they are removed to a terrestrial setup.
Interesting and thanks. I am currently rearing Italian crested juveniles and Alpine juveniles. Really enjoying them and the advice here has been great. I feed them frozen bloodworm and chopped small earthworms.
