The awning will free stand on its own.

The placement of your awning can be personal preference. If you've installed it in a position that allows no interfere with other parts of your vehicle such as a rear hatch or your door. You're good to go.

Good judgment will always win the day when conditions are questionable. Any awning will act as a giant sail on the side of your vehicle if not properly secured so make sure to do that when setting up. And just keep an eye on the conditions. If it gets gusty perhaps re-position the vehicle so it acts like a wind block, or stow the awning to prevent an accident. Hope this helps!

Awning zippers aren't meant to be hidden. If you pull them to the back of the awning during stow away, it will reduce jingle noise. Hope that helps!

The awning in the video is a 2.5M awning or 8.2ft.

The 200 Series here has our 8' awning on it.

The awnings come with L brackets. Make sure those were included in your hardware bag. These L brackets are designed to work with a variety of aftermarket roof racks. Many aftermarket roof rack manufacturers also make specific awning brackets just for their rack. If you are mounting this on a stock factory roof rack then here is a great hack you can do. Simply get some stainless steel hose clamps from your local hardware store, 2 clamps per L-bracket are needed. Use the clamps to secure each L bracket to the roof rack cross bar and then you can hang your awning. That way you do not need to drill any holes. Hope this helps! Our awnings are not vehicle-specific. All you need is a roof rack to attach the awning mounting brackets to. If you have a factory roof rack you can mount the awning L brackets to your factory roof rack cross bars using some stainless steel hose clamps. Hope this helps!
