I'll show you how I've constructed this garment from start to finish -- including how to shorten a plastic separating zipper and add the lining.

is there an easier way to do the sleeve cuff to jacket lining part? i just can't understand it. would it work to just pull the sleeves through, turn the whole jacket inside out, and handstitch the lining to the ribbing?

What amount of ease does this pattern give? Is it a close fitting jacket?

It is a comfortable fitting jacket. I wouldn't say close fitting-- just the ribbed knit around bottom will hug your hips.

My question is about pattern size: do I go by bust or hip/waist measurement. The pattern would be a size 12 if by ust, but 14 if by waist.

It's a good question. I sewed a size 8, even though I am usually a size 10 for bottoms. After sewing it, I would probably advise to go with hip size, OR grade out at the hip if necessary.
