I’ve watched several videos on book pillow making and like yours the best because you give measurements and clear instructions without a lot of useless chatter. I made one and loved the handle idea…brilliant. One change I made was to divide the pocket for a small snack.

Great Tutorial. Very well put together and one of the best patters I've seen. I have all of my pieces cut and ready to put together. I'm making 3 pillows for my niece's kids. And I'm going to have my husband personalize them with their name with iron on transfer. Thanks for that idea at the end!

I have been watching reading pillow videos all night, and I have to say thins is the easiest to understand and follow. I just wish you had shown how to use fusible fleece on them. I get so confused with that. But I think I can figure it out. Lol. Thanks for this great tutorial. I can’t wait to get started. (New subscriber btw!)

I have watched several videos for these pillows and this one is by far the best. The first one I watched didn’t tell me to have the back material wrong side up so I sewed it wrong and had to rip apart. Steps are important.

I have made about a dozen of these and have watched many tutorials. I just want to say that I like your tutorial the best because I like that you put your envelope top to bottom versus right to left. I have made some with the binding accent on the front some without I do like the binding accent. I also have done some with an accent panel in the front but I don't like those as much because they cover up the cute fabric. I have done embroidery personalization on the front also. But thank you for your tutorial and I like that tip of top to bottom.

I s video. So well done. I have a Cricut and don’t believe you can save outside the Cricut software but if you figure it out I’d love to know. I typically design in Photoshop and bring into Cricut. Much more versatility. Thanks again I will be making these.

Question: I am very nervous doing this, but excited because it's the first video that seems to be easiest. However, now that I'm ready to sew the strap, I've folded it in 1/2 lengthwise so do I stitch the top or the folded side. I'm probably confusing you. Sorry.
@ScrappyPatch
@ScrappyPatch 3 года назад
You top stitch down the long side of the strap. You can do it on both long sides. I think I only did it on one side in the video but it looks better if you do both. No I don’t have written tutorials. Sorry

Silly question but I’m new. When you said 11x18 do I measure 11 going across first or 11 going down first
@654Bearcub
@654Bearcub Год назад
11'' going down to be depth of the pocket ( - the seam allowance) 18 is across to match the width of the main panel

How many yards of fabric does this take?
@ScrappyPatch
@ScrappyPatch 3 года назад
A yard will be plenty
@kathleenmayhorne3183
@kathleenmayhorne3183 3 года назад
You would be better off to sew an 1/2" seam around the pillow, all the pressures of use will be evident here. Clothing has wider than 1/4" seams for this very reason. Quilts use smaller seam allowances because there is no pressure on patch seams and for this reason alone this works well.
@ScrappyPatch
@ScrappyPatch 3 года назад
This works fine if you finish off the seams like I stated in the video

@@ScrappyPatch do you cater to only children who never get into a "rough and tumble," or read heavy books? I must cordially agree to disagree, It is only a matter of time.
