Another Tuesday 2 minute Tutorial and today is how to sharpen the eyes in Photoshop CC 2021. This effect work well on most portrait style photos where you might have missed focus on the eyes. So make sure to have a look at the pre-selected photos on my website to follow along with this tutorial.

Once I get the mask layer, what do I need to do to get the brush? Nothing happens with mine. No red stuff, nor area chosen, just gets clicked!!?? Help?

Just sharing this out there, you could also crop out the eye and then use highpass, and then overlay. No need for all the stuff after.

Is there any PS tutorial for brightening the eyes that tells you where each of the tool locations are told to you slowly? I have listened to this multiple times and I still can’t find any of the tools he is using. Brand new to PS

I have never used the high pass filter before, do you use it often?

I use it a lot. Especially if you have slightly mist focus and you want to sharpen the image 👍🏻

Your tutorial is amazing! :) but pardon me I have been trying for hours but can't figure out what I have to do in the very last step, you said "paint in the area that you want to select... " "clicking drawing in the area that you want to sharpen..." -> which tool on the left that I have to "click drawing" specifically?

After applying the high pass filter Alt+click on the layer mask to hide the high pass filter layer. Then with a white soft round brush paint back on the eyes of the model, make sure the layer mask is selected. And always remember- layer mask rule is black hides and white reveals.
