HeadBlade.com Jack, long-time HeadBlader and Warehouse Manager, demonstrates a step-by-step process of shaving your head with the new HeadBlade Sport. Have additional tips? Leave them in the comment section.
Just received my Headblade and I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with their customer service. They added some free moisturiser packs, some stickers (but who cares about those) and a hand written note on the back of the order form, thanking me for the purchase, reminding me to watch these videos, and to contact them with any questions, concerns or recommendations. I also had very speedy service. I ordered last night, the nearest retailer was several hours away, yet this morning the package arrived (and I didn't choose an express shipping option). Haven't actually used it yet, but wanted to at least state somewhere that they seem very custom oriented, which is a great thing.
+Abyssionknight Okay, just tried the Razor out and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. Have a headblade sport and the default blades seem a little weak. I'm thin at the top and they did a great job getting it smooth there, but they struggled at the back and it still feels pretty rough. Maybe my hair back there is just really thick, or perhaps my first attempt with the headblade simply led me astray, but the result was pretty average. What I can say though is shaving with this thing is a hell of a lot easier than with a normal razor. With a normal razor I have a habit of nicking myself by the dip at the back of my head, but with this there was no issue at all. I think the hb3 blades are not very good, so while I recommend this product, i'd recommend the hb4 or hb6 blades instead.
Cool Video. I think it's important, also, to note that the amount of hair you have on your head (and its thickness) plays a significant role in what it takes to get the job done. I've been shaving my head bald for almost 20 years. My problem is (if you can call it a problem) that I still have a full head of hair. I see a lot of these videos online of guys shaving a section of hair in one direction with one stroke. I've used a Mach 3 for ages, and not only does each section take multiple strokes in each direction, but one cartridge (for me) is ONLY good for ONE head shaving session. I literally have to dump a cartridge after one use. Most people shave their head because they've lost most of their hair, but some people shave their head because they like the way it looks. I do it because I think it looks decent and because I don't like that hassle of going to the barber once a week. I would love to see a head shaving video done by someone who still has a full head of thick hair. I think it would totally bring a different perspective. Maybe I'll do that sometime in the near future.
I hear ya man. I haven't started balding yet, but I've been a head shaver since 2004. Mach 3's are junk. I've been able to shave my whole head up to 6 times with just one Schick Xtreme 3 cartridge. Plus they flex to the contours of your skull, and they're a few millimetres wider than most blades, which makes a huge difference.
I'll need to check the Xtreme out! I was using the Proglide Fusion for a few years, and it was only slightly better than the Mach 3. Currently, I'm using the ProShield, and I can't even put into words how disappointed I am with it. It's worse than the Mach 3 and the Fusion, in my opinion. =/
I got my HeadBlade yesterday. I order it to shave my head when a friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer. when she started her chemo her hair fell out, so i decided to shave my head in support of her. I tell you that the headblade was very easy to use. It took me 5 min to shave my head for the first time. Great product, I wish I would have ordered some head slick. The samples they sent worked great. Jeff Martin Timmins Ontario Canada
I am loving the new ATX Headblade. I was using the Classic Headblade, but am now in love with the ATX. The HeadSlick is also great. I have tried all kinds of shaving creams, soaps, gels, etc. But I always go back to the Headslick, It is the slickest and best I have found.
I love the idea to invent something to help us shave our heads. I myself have a strong full head of hair, but I like shaving it bald. I've ordered this product online... however, it just seems like... this is nothing you can't do with a regular razorblade.
This is true!! I started shaving my head about 6 months ago. I had thinning hair. As soon as i shaved it it was like a light switch with the woman. Women do really love a smooth shaved head!!
That's a confident attitude - I like it. Man, I've been using the Dollar Tree multi blade razors, and its just not cutting it, literally. My head look likes an old bowling ball, complete with nicks, dents, and scratches. I'm going to have to scrounge up some man-kit coinage, and try that roller thingie.
Been shaveing my head for 2 years now best way to go! Only a few guys could pull it off back in the day like Yul Brynner and Telly Salavas, now guys are shaveing there heads and there not thinning!
I saw the new HeadBlade Sport the other day at the store! i almost bought it! but i got my Schick Hydro 3 blades!! how long do the blades last that come with the HeadBlade?? can you use it too shave your face? i think im going too try it in a few weeks!!
I have Headblade moto unit. The HB4 refill blades are not available in Dubai,U.A.E market. Can I use other brands cartridge instead of HB4 blade? Anyone can advice me please.
For any new user we recommend the ATX because it has zero learning curve as you use the same pulling method as a traditional razor and uses our new 4 blade cartridge (with easy rinsing). The Sport is awesome, but takes a bit longer to master and uses a triple blade cartridge.
Todd i love headblade.i use headblade moto or atx.very quick and smooth shave! I use exfoliant headshed, headslick, after clearhead and headlube glossy moisture lotion for shine and beautiful head. Tutorial headblade.3 times a Week!
Listen if your just starting out on the journey of shaving your own head I would say something like the headblade is probably the BEST place to start as the control you have over it and the way it sits in your hand is perfect. HOWEVER .. Once your comfortable with shaving your head I would suggest then moving onto a regular face razor because, A) Headblade replacement blades are INSANELY expensive compared to regular razor blades B) It's hard to find somewhere either online or an actual store that regularly has them in stock and so if your purely relying on this product to get the job done you COULD find yourself being caught short.
Jack, You do a great job of giving a good demo on how to shave your head with a headblade sport. You have an awesome looking chrome come. Thanks for sharing with us how you do such a great job,
+marynarkw the design is much more ergonomic than a regular razor. Also the blade looks a bit wider. Shaving with this is as easy as running your hand along your head. With a typical razor, it's alot more uncomfortable.
valensmann -- Sure it looks like a toy, but if you value function over form, or substance over style, or simply whether it gets the job done or just looks good, you will find that it does the job beautifully. That's because it keeps the blade cartridge at just the right angle, and if you move the unit at right angles to the blade, you get a great close shave.
Torcida -- When you are done shaving your head, wash it again with soap and rinse thoroughly, to get all of the shaving lubricant off. Then rub on some good lotion like Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair (not an aftershave and no alcohol).
I´ve started to shave my head yesterday but I still have alot of stubble left. After I got rid of my hair with an electric hair cutter I shaved my head with a shaver for the face. I´ll try headblade next. Do I have to use an aftershave too or is it unnessecary for the head?
@chaucer55 To shave that quickly, the hair should be only 1-2 day old stubble. I'd even be scared to shave that fast one day after shaving. Best to trim down with some electric clippers first, then go for the shave.
@TheKarub1 Possible, yes... but not very effective, especially once you get down onto the neck, because following that sort of curve with that grip style is incredibly awkward... also the top lip is hard to get cause your upper finger would be kind of in the way, and you'd have to hole it like a traditional razor... so yes, it's possible, but not advisable.
Hey. Your delivery prices are ridiculous. I live in Finland and there is no way I could get your products here under $24 delivery costs. I think I have to try to find another way to get your products.
11 years late but my question is, how the F did you get your finger in that tiny "ring"? Got my headblade today and I can't get my finger in that thing.
