In this weeks video I am sharing how to shorten a dress and I am also making a bag from the scrap material. Two sewing projects in one video. I am only 4 ft 11 so I find it hard to get dresses to fit me in the length. I am sharing how to do some simple sewing alterations in this video. I hope you find this video helpful. Happy sewing!

We are both members of the 4'11'' club!😀 I have to hem EVERYTHING, so I am glad I can sew. It's amazing how even hemming the sleeve length on a top can make it look so much better. The only pieces of clothing I take to the tailor are knit dresses and tops because I feel like a serger works better on that kind of fabric.💐💐❤

@@DaintyDiaries I'm a little intimidated by sergers... so many threads etc. And, I don't think I sew enough to justify buying one. I sewed a lot when I was younger! I just bought a walking foot for my sewing machine, which is supposed to make sewing on knits easier.💖

You CAN be Lucy M. Just keep trying! I love wood signs and for years bought mine on line. Finally I decided to give it a try, watched youtube videos, bought the material and after many failures, tears and wanting to give up because all my creations were just sad, I now create art that is more beautiful that any sold on Etsy or Facebook Marketplace. Don't give up! If you want it, you CAN be artistic and creative!!

I love the dress and the bag!!! I wish I could shorten dresses and skirts. But, I have the opposite problem, 6' and everything is usually too short. Lengthing just looks off most of the time.

I think you should try designing handbags recycled from materials in thrift stores, etc. You would be great at that, and could make some decent money :)
