This is a wonderful visual on how to shorten sleeves from the bottom as opposed to the top of the sleeve. My husband has short arms and the fabulous sale shirts he gets never fit in the sleeves. I found that if the sleeve needs to be shortened more than 11/2 inches, shortening from the top of the sleeve does not work because it alters the shape of the sleeve too much. But yet, if the sleeve is only shortened without moving the entire placket, the sleeves can't be comfortably folded either. This video demonstrates how to move the entire placket, a very worthwhile skill for any home sewer.
Thank you for the great video and detailed way that you showed how to shorten sleeves. This is so helpful for me as most blouses are too long, I have to roll them up. Taking apart the sleeves at the shoulder and resewing is time consuming and more difficult. I appreciate you sharing your talents.
Thank you for the great video. You make it look easy but I know it's not. But now I won't be so afraid to try to do it. I know that if I take my time it might just come out looking pretty good!
Love yr traditional and rich experienced skills, especially the much detailed sewing technique of a button which I learned a lot......Thanks so much, Mr Hui
I’m going to have try that razor thing in place of seam ripper. Knowing me, I’ll accidentally cut myself and bleed all over the shirt I bought for my husband. Thanks for video! I’m a newbie and am excited to try to improve my husband’s wardrobe since he cannot find dress shirts that fit.
I,m Italian but I must say that I had to look an English version of how to do this job cause you can,t find it in Italian end not even in French which I also speak. Thank you very much. Excellent. Best regards.
