Concise and to the point - exactly what I needed. Appreciated not having to hear a 15-minute backstory about how you e.g. fixed the blinds for your brother's new house once.
Excellent! Really glad my tutorial helped you shorten your blinds! Also I try to make my videos as short and concise as possible. No need to add a bunch of non-related content. Thanks for watching!
I’m really glad my blind shortening tutorial was helpful! I’ve done so many in the past that I thought others might find this useful since all blinds from big box hardware stores are long! Thanks for watching!
Grrrrear video; finished in 15 mins. If you take a lighter and burn the pull strings slightly, they become stiff and very easy to thread through the holes. Thank you sooo much for your demonstration. 💕
I’m really glad that you enjoyed my blind shortening video helpful! It’s not hard to do. I’ve shortened many mini blinds between my house and my rental house. You can do it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you. I never shortened my blinds, which were way too long, and I had thrown the instructions away. Thank you for taking the time to.post this video.
You’re welcome! Shortening mini blinds isn’t exactly an intuitive thing to do but I’m glad you found my video on how to do it. I’ve shortened a lot of blinds between all the replacements and new installs I’ve had to do. It’s a new skill you’ll be able to use in the future! Thanks for watching!
I was about to buy custom blinds but after your video I feel confident I can do this. I’m sure I’ll be watching it again after I receive my new blinds. Thanks🤗
Yes! You can shorten the mini blinds found at at Home Depot and Lowe’s pretty easily. I have shortened many blinds now. If the pre-measured blinds are slightly off in width a lot of times the store can cut them to fit. Then all you do is install and shorten. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely the best tutorial I've seen on this. I've tried and tried to do this, and now, for the first time, I think I can actually do this myself. Thank you so much! ❤
Hey I’m really glad my mini blind shortening tutorial was helpful! As you can see it’s not too difficult to do! I’ve done so many now between all the houses I’ve lived in and a rental home that I do it from memory now! Thanks for watching!
Thanks. I always wanted to do this but the instructions with the blinds always seemed confusing. I wanted to finally do this so checked youtube and followed your instructions and it turned out great. Much easier than the instructions make it sound.
Thank you very much! I think I may be able to get a few more months out of the 20 year old blinds this house came with because I think I will be able to move the extra bottom slats to where the middle ones have broken. Valuable information!
You’re welcome! I’m really glad my mini blind tutorial was helpful! I’ve had to shorten many mini blinds in the past. This is a good skill to have! Thanks for watching!
Excellent! I’m really glad my blind shortening tutorial was helpful! I’ve shortened many blinds in my rental house. Between tenants there’s always a few that need replaced and they all need to be shortened. Thanks for watching!
Yeah cordless blinds are a different story! I have custom cordless blinds in my house but they were custom made for my windows. I haven’t had to install my own cordless blinds like the ones from Home Depot/Lowes. Hopefully you find a tutorial that can help! Thanks for watching!
I’m not sure how cordless blinds work! But this method probably won’t work with them since the strings are going to be looped in differently. Sorry I’m not more help!
if anyone can link a video on how to restring this type of cordeless blind. while shortening, the two lead strings escaped, zipping up into the top bar. 😫
DO NOT DO THIS ON CORDLESS BLINDS WITHOUT SOMHOW SECURING AT LEAST ONE OF THE LIFT STINGS!!! If you don't, they will all suck up into the mechanism and it's a SOB to get back out. I suggest a set small vice grips at the top if you have them otherwise only do one string at a time.
I can understand that shortening blinds looks intimidating. I remember the first one I ever repaired. It was nerve racking cutting the first string. I was thinking I was going to ruin the blind or actually repair it. I have now used this process to repair/replace many blind strings. It works!
