Toyota only allows you to save 10 favorites, it's not enough

Terrible design that requires so much time with eyes off of the road and reading the display. Distracted driving at its finest. That tiny little channel plus or minus sign is the only way to tune /scan stations. You lean over from the driver’s seat to access it and because it is touch screen, you can rely on touch sensation to know of your finger is on or off a button. Bring back physical dials. I have a 2023 Highlander with this and it totally fosters eyes off the road driving. Terrible design. I would trade the vehicle in if I would lose so much $$. My bad for not really knowing how bad this would be in practice prior to purchasing.

I completely agree. I hate mine too. I would pay to have the older system in the car.

I agree @christinamarie3446 you pointed out everything I absolutely despise about this system. What a shock. I bought a 2023 Rav4 that I had no idea that I would hate so much just because changing a radio station is so difficult. No physical dials and the stations are presented in tiny font that I cannot read going down the road.. What garbage... I've lived with it for two months, and I despise it more every time I use the car.. BTW, the radio takes a ridiculous amount of time to start. My old 2016 Rav system was superior.

@@robertwarner1633 yeah I have to wait like 30 seconds after plugging in my phone for it to recognize what music will be playing. My 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT literally did that instantaneously...

I picked up a 23 Rav LE in August and I hate the car. The Infotainment is awful, terrible design for many reasons. No tuning knob, small font, it takes forever for the sound to come on, and you can't scan.. The other thing that sucks is the volume and station selector are on opposite posts of the steering wheel. My other Toyota's were always on the same side of the wheel. I should have test drove this newer model before putting my name on an allocation. POS.

I absolutely hate these new systems. They are fine for a tablet at your house but it is extremely distracting and dangerous to operate while driving. I really wish they had left the quick buttons of the sides like infotainment system in the 2019 rav4. Don’t even get me started on the new MID too. Omg there is so much junk up there it would be impossible to know of you needed any type of service because everything is lit up like a Christmas tree. Newer isn’t always better. If I had known this before I bought my new vehicle I would have waited.

How tho ...it connects to your phone the moment you get in and then is a normal carplay radio as 99% of customers will use and never use the toyota system for anything..its so seemless . They just moved the buttons onto the screen. Music should play automatically and then can scan with the wheel
@greenbrandy82
@greenbrandy82 Год назад
@@mutinyrider666 I do not connect my phone to my car. I like to scan stations on my steering wheel but it doesn’t just scan to the next station. It only scans stations that are saved as favorites. The screen is just distracting because it’s not user friendly. I have to keep pressing back arrows to get back to other things. I just don’t like it at all. If I could have the old infotainment system put in there and the new one removed I would.

@@greenbrandy82 I agree 100%. I bought a 2023 RAV4 two months ago and I absolutely despise this new system compared to my 2016 rav for every reason you posted above. It's useless because you can't scan the stations in order and it doesn't have a safe way for tuning stations on the move. What a lemon, it makes me hate the car.
@Steelrailbearing

@@greenbrandy82 That is exactly my complaint with my 23 RAV. I hate the car because of it. I have no desire to sign in and connect my phone to the car... You cannot tune a station without taking your eyes off the road. It's junk..

I need to find a way to hide or delete the Sirius XM completely. Nothing but ads and way overpriced for what you get. Does anyone know how to do this?

Way overpriced? They are offering subscriptions for 5 bucks a month. What do you consider reasonable in 2024?

Sirius won't come up as option if your iPhone is connected via carplay , apple. Disconnect that, reconnect via just Bluetooth and sirius will show on screen as option/to set up.

that's such a bad design choice. Why can't I have my phone plugged in charging, while being able to switch between Sirius XM and my phone's music?? These smart infotainment systems are dumber than ever...

Please explain why this system cannot be put on the 2022 Toyota Highlander even though there is another 12” screen on the Lexus LX that uses this UI.

This is an advert for Sirius. The email said it was to use the audio system. The biggest complaint about the RAV4 is how blasted convoluted it is to get to RADIO. Just give me a button to get to FM RADIO and let me tune to / save the station I had my Venza 14 years, and despite unsbuscribing from emails I continue to be plagued for 14 years with letters and emails, and now it continues with the RAV4. I will never want or use Sirius. I wish I could simply delete it permanently from my car.

Absolutely ridiculous that a 2023 Highlander can't have Android Auto and Sirius XM at the same time. Our 2017 Hyundai could do this no problem. Do better Toyota.
