Our lead instructor Harj started his Krav Maga journey under Steve Maycock in 2008. After progressing through the many student ranks he completed the instructorship programme with the IKMF in 2012. He has been predominately involved at a senior level in Krav Maga for the last 10 yrs running classes and seminars in the West Midlands area.
He has taught 100's of students in various types of settings, more recently on the international seminar circuit.
He is passionate about teaching and loves seeing students grow in confidence. He has taught fighters, service personnel, various institutions but for him it's about teaching the people that truly need it, everyday people, like you!
Harj also has years of training experience and Instructor qualifications in various martial arts and self-defence systems including Filipino Martial Arts, Filipino Boxing, Dacyana Eskrima and Rapid Assault Tactics (Paul Vunak). In 2018 he completed the UC teaching exam and gruelling stress test to become a Senior Urban Combatives Instructor under Lee Morrison.

I liked how you talked about the different parts of the face. Speaking as an Operating Department practitioner, with over 33 years in Critical care, I can say with certainty that a good slap over the cheek, performed correctly, will immediately stun most people without question. The blow will almost always include the Superficial Facial nerves and associated muscle, mainly, the Superficial Facial Nerve, which extends from just before the Tragus of the ear, i.e. the round 'Bud-like' extension of the outer ear, towards the back of the neck. It is a 'Stopper' without question

Great Explanation, the different zones and options for self preservation i.e. bent arm, cupped hand, using heel of hand not fingers are all super tips, hip twist and whip from foot upwards in series... nicely explained Thanks

It won't look as bad if you hit someone and you get caught on a street camera if the police get involved it's something I would use it's also something they wouldn't expect

There is no way I let you get that close to me to hit me. Distance. As soon as I no longer have any way to keep my distance from you, IE you back me into a corner with no way out, I attack.

Not you. You would not need slapped. Belligerent violent drunks will ALWAYS get in the face of random strangers. This slap move is MVP for most regular non fighters

He’s amazing. I’ve never trained with him. But, refer everyone to him for accurate training advice. I’ll be using your slap video from now on as one of the follow up videos to my one day Self Defence courses. You explain it so well. Good job mate 🙏
