I get a lot of people asking me how to go fast and stay in control. In this video, I breakdown the body positions needed to be in control and show you an example of how to control your snowboard during those crazy bumps. I hope you enjoy it!

wish I saw your video before I went snowboarding today. Slipped out many times -> thought I didn’t lean into the edge enough -> slipped out even more 😅 luckily, you just land flat on powdery bumps so not too painful, except once it was icy and I almost slides till the bottom 🥲

I noticed you don't list your board in your gear... are you on the hometown hero here? A bunch of my boards are at the end of their lifespan and I am looking at the yes standard & hometown hero 160w or 165w. Never gone below 163 so I'm uncertain // I am 6'4" 210, with a 12boot... ride 23.5in apart in stance (-9/+12) on my everyday board. Used to be of that old school train of thought get a big wide board go big and fast, but recent seasons I've taken my all rocker jib board 164w into the trees and slashed around I realized the rocker keeps me afloat and the shorter board is super maneuverable and forgiving on trees & bumps. I do want to carve deeper so camber underfoot is a must on the next board. Anyways holler if you or anyone has thoughts! Thanks so much for making these vids!

Honestly, it would do potential viewers some good having this video labeled "for beginners/novice" since I think everything discussed here is fairly low-level in the progressions tree/ladder. I try to keep an open mind and watch a lot of content to find useful tips for improving my riding, but going over the importance of knee bending and weight stacking (which are interrelated) is fairly basic and should be one of the first things most riders learn to work on even before going fast. I was expecting some additional input about using up-unweighting on groomers for the high stability and/or using down-unweighting to help bleed speed and adding control in the bumps, but instead it can basically be boiled down to knee bending. I'm sure you have plenty more to offer than that.

For an Orca you are gonna want around 154-157cm. Definitely don’t get anything lower since that is a big time powder board.

Is the exaggerated arms for display purposes or is that your normal position? You have the arm rudders looking like you're a noob, but then you pull off all this awesome flow and control, beautiful airs and landing smoother than cream. Great content with easily digestable tips to apply to the next session.

@seanbaker1627
@seanbaker1627 3 года назад
Use the heck out of your arms. Riding with your hands against your sides might look like you're super in "control" but in reality, you're not maximizing your body.
@shanealpine5969
@shanealpine5969 3 года назад
Maybe riding like that isn't noobish? I been doin it since day 1, its j they way my body reacts to keep me balanced and move the board appropriately. Eveyine has they own style, in my opinion arms are crucial

Dude, stop telling people to bend at the knees to bring their bellybutton down! Like squats, you want to bend at the waist by pushing your hips back, which CAUSES your knees to bend and you bellybutton to come down.
