Yep, I saw 3 gold coins listed last night at a good price, 1/4 oz for $570cdn each, so about $77 less than getting the 1/4 maple here, has a rcm coa with it, and it's a tendered coin, but almost 16hours later no one has jumped on them. Clearly the design or something is keeping the buyers away on them. I didn't because I myself wasn't sure. My plan has been to stick with maples for my gold, being in Canada.

As an European, the Sovereign at around 1/4th of an ounce is a pretty excellent option with a lot of resale potential locally, and the premiums are generally quite low, particularly for randoms. Even the half sovereign has somewhat reasonable premiums, and is a really nice way of getting smaller pieces for those on a limited budget. Of course, for you guys across the pond the resale of a Sovereign might not be as straightforward.

@2 is 1 mentioned in a previous video to do your buying in relation to your geography. I stack mostly silver. I live in Australia and my stack is nearly half kangaroos - it's recognized by the locals and will be easier to sell when the time comes. American Eagles (Gold or Silver) command the highest premium above all other coins even here in Australia. I bought a lot early 2019 and it now makes up 40% of my stack and there is no coin in my stacking experience which commands the type of demand and premium these bad boys attract. I always buy with the re-salability in mind...always. One of the reasons I don't like the foreign coins (although like most, I have a few) is that they have some different compositions in them. Without it being on the coin, you need to explain it or have to look it up yourself. I like to have stuff that requires no explanation when it is time to sell. As far as fractional...no problem buying that. I know it is more expensive but IMHO, may be easier to sell as well because I don't need someone with $2K to buy something from me. Thanks 2 is 1!

The 1/4 ozt. Britannia is my "go-to" coin for when premiums on Eagles and Maples get too dear. 2 is 1, you should buy one quarter or one tenth ounce gold Krugerrands. That how you can save money on gold. I have done a cost analysis of all the major gold bullion coins and found this to be the best option of all gold coins. Another option is to buy 1gram, 2 gram, 5 and 10 gram gold bars. This is even cheaper than buying coins. You are paying a few hundred dollars more per gram or ounce when you buy coins.

Here's a different perspective: If SHTF and you are forced to leave the country, those foreign coins won't be a problem to sell. South African gold has been minted for decades. Its widely regarded in many parts of the world. Same goes with British gold sovereigns. In regards to fractional gold purchases: Excellent choice. Especially for newbie stackers with little money to invest, but still want to hold gold. Yes the dollar cost average will be higher, but fractionals will be easier to sell if gold ever explodes to super high prices. Also fractional coins are much easier to stash on person or hidden in clothing stitched inside the lining of a jacket for example. But I digress. Just some different viewpoints to warrant purchases other than your standard one gold eagle coins.
