I've gotten several cans of collard greens from the food pantry and needed something to do with them. This is my first time eating collards, canned or otherwise. I used bacon to make mine with. Thank you for this, I'm having a delicious and healthy dinner.
The video left out a lot of steps for beginners like myself. How long did you cook the meat . What seasons did you use. How long do you cook the greens after you mix them with the meat .
Hello first I want to say thanks! for watching and thank you for your questions. cooking your meat is an individual thing no two people are going to cook their meat the same exact time because some meat may require less or more time even if it’s the same meat with that being said cook your meat until it’s done you will know it done when really tender don’t be afraid to tear the meat apart with a fork and look at it on the inside; next I used bell peppers green and red, green onions, salt, black pepper, and accent; after you are sure that your meat is done be sure to drain all the water off, add your seasonings , and finally drain your canned greens as much as possible and place them on top of your meat to heat thoroughly then mix everything together. I hope that this helped you if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. 😊🦋
Looks so good! Iam trying these glory greens from the can for thanksgiving this year. Its just my husband and i thos year and he wont be able to tell. HeeHee
Thank you so much for this video!! I made collard greens for the first time this year and they were soooo bomb. Just bought a can to see how it'd compare. Gonna try this!
Thank you for the video. My neighbor gave me 12 cans of green and I have never eaten them but I'm going to try them so I can use them up and clear my cabinets
Thank you for your video. However, I would wait until everything is mixed and give it a taste before I added salt. Smoked ham hocks can be very salty and canned greens also include a bunch of salt. And let me say, I love salty foods!
Your welcome Jeff , but you never wait to add salt, because after it’s done , or almost done it’s to late just put the salt in your hand instead of pouring it out of the box so that you don’t put to much.
You said that you would wait to add the salt if you wait to late to add the salt all you will taste is salt and it will overpower everything else you have to cook it in your food
@@cookingwithlauriejae ,okay, now you're being silly. How is waiting until you mix the canned greens into the pot and then giving it a taste "to late"?
Hi thank you, I cleaned the meat first by boiling it three times adding vinegar to the water and after the the meat cooked for about an hour and a half some meat takes longer the greens are already done so all that your doing is letting them warm and stirring them in with the meat.
Hi I boil the meat to clean it about three times using water and vinegar after that boil the meat in plain water when the meat is done add salt , pepper, accent, and whatever seasonings you like along with the belbeppers
Thank you for this video I’m going to try this recipe for my family, you said to season the meat first with your powdered seasonings right I’m so nervous auntie this looks good
Don't look like you drained the water off the meat, I saw the liquid in the pot before you added the greens. Which is it,also I know to drain the greens. Thank you for this lovely recipe.❤😅
I’m considering making the premium chicken or the chopped up chicken and mix some cheese with this and possibly make it a wrap since I have flower tortillas.
Seriously. This isn't rocket science. It's simply sprucing up them can items. This is an excellent video. Ive always done fresh greens. But someone asked for these can ones. And lmao I was hesitant on doing that. I like everything fresh. My first time seeing this publisher and she's got my vote. Damn good idea.
And when I do all of that your still going to add more or less just like I do; you taste till it’s right ,because no two people have the same taste or tolerance
