OFFICIALTHENX Great videos, thank you for that, for helping us to begin calisthenics and because you explaining how to do that. Make video about abs how to have strong core and abs.
My 10 year-old daughter saw me watching the video and did 10 pistol squats just like that (she's into her 4th year in dancesport) while I still can't even do one. Man, oh man, sure makes you feel feeble... 😂😂
first time I had a pistol squat described to me was when I was still in elementary school and my (younger) brother was talking about a female classmate doing them
I love love these series! I am a beginner and I love the way you break down each move and show it how to do it in perfect form. As well as how many sets to do, and when to move up to a new move and how to do it to bring out the maximum of each workout. Like this, I not only have the vision of where I want to get but how to get there. It really keeps me motivated to keep on going because I see results. Thank you!
Would really love to see a video about getting flexible enough to start doing calisthenics in the first place. :) I for example can't even sit on the floor with my legs straight out in front of me and a vertical back... :-/ I sure can't be the only one? :D What would you suggest?
Chris. I just found you on you tube. I have a seperated c3 c4 in my neck. My back is riddle with arthritis One of my lumber was damaged a long time ago. I also have a s1 and scrum and siatica. Im in chronic pain. My whole right side is kuput. I used to be buff in my 30s. Im on ssi I WANT TO FEEL THAT POWER AGAIN im 53
Great video, great progression. You should've also included stretching, some people can't raise their legs not due to ab weakness, but because muscles are way too tight so the knee hurts if you go anywhere near 90 degrees.
I just left all exercises that I was learning from other channels. Now, Chris you are my only trainer. . . I am so lucky that I got a trainer like you.❤️
I did squats with weights. 3 sets 12 reps. You made me realise that I can't do proper 5 with chair behind me and no weights. Man.... can't remember last time I was so thankful to someone :D
Great workouts Chris! I've been training for almost 8 years doing Max OT training and Calisthenics seems to help me break the mold of being stagnant. Already getting stronger doing the the basics of Calisthenics. Thanks!
Hey Chris, I love your content. :) As a beginner, I have had trouble just getting through the basics, these videos have been extremely helpful for me. Keep up the great work, love your channel.
I only just realised you arnt on a mil yet??? I'm not trying to suck up to you but your editing and intro is by far the best I've ever seen for a fitness channel!
I love these calisthenics videos! I'm determined to get back into shape but some of these are so difficult. i have screws in my knee and hip from an injury that limit my mobility, but i still work every day to become more flexible to master calisthenics. I'm glad I can build a workout around all your advice Chris!
Can we get a video on stretches & exercises on how to improve mobility? Also on how to incorporate them into a workout (before workout, after workout or on rest days)?
i can do pistol squats BUT only one my right leg 🥲 so definitely have to practise a bit more and make my own YT vid to document it ....and have tight hamstrings as my L-sits look more like a h-sit 🤣
The way Chris breaks down the progressions are superb. I came across his videos a few weeks ago and my workout routine has truly improved. So grateful to have found these videos.
Hey Chris, quick problem I have is flexibility! On L-sits I am strong enough for the movement but struggle to keep my legs straight because my hamstrings are tight? Any tips? Or maybe a future video on stretching and flexibility? Thanks a lot😀
sit on the floor with back as straight as possible. then just stretch out hamstrings. reach for your toes!!! back straight, legs striaght, beware of pain though, could be a sign of over excertion and will result in small tears.
Chris I've been watching many of your videos and you have inspired me to get back into calisthenics. I quit years ago because I wanted to gain more with weights but I became less athletic and using your videos has helped me to get back into it and feel like an athlete again. Thank you I wanted to know if the thenx team can set up a diet program on the thenx app for cutting and also for muscle gain. Thanks for sharing your videos with the world and inspiring others @officialthenx
Great info, I'm 51 and love to learn and develop. Given up running and heavy weights to save my ageing joints, training such as this is perfect for my long term fitness and joint protection.
Barstarzz got me interested in calisthenics & bodyweight training at the beginning of the year--but your channel got me hooked on working out. Super informative & inspiring. I've lost 20+ lbs since the New Year thanks to you & strict dieting. Thanks so much, dude! Only getting started here.
Another great vid! Hey Chris could you do a video on what you're particular routine is when working out with dumbbells? PLEASE respond and Thanks in advance!

Do mobility and flexibility training by static stretching in between sets with 10-20 seconds no more than 30 and/or do dynamic stretches for a few sets
thanks bruh. exactly what I was looking for. I have been following your workouts, modified what I already know, and I have been seeing huge gains simply because you help me understand technique better. my pull-ups are getting pretty beastly. my goal is muscle ups but I am afraid of heights so it will be interesting :)
@@bellayline I got hella strong. I’m still on the bar but I never conquered that fear of heights. I have irrational fear that I will pull too hard and flip over the bar and land on my head 🤯
Thank you! Yesterday I held L-sit for the first time. 21/2/19: It was only 2 seconds but I’ll work on it :D 3/3/19: I held L-sit for 20 seconds thank you Chris !
Hi, im 35yrs old, is it too late to start calisthenics? Im not massivley out of shape, just a small beer belly but ive recently changed my life around and drink no more beer and i eat only healthy foods now. Im just a little low on confidence i guess.. :/
Hi Chris, thank you for the great content on the app. One question, do you lock your elbows when you do knee raises? Because I feel like I'm sticking my butt out a bit and that my shoulders roll forward when I do them. Thanks
5 years i'm trying to get a perfect body, but I love and i stop every tim doing sports but I love all kind of sport so now. from 3 weeks ago, I attacked my objectif " Road to Saiyan" , 2 times per weeks muay thai and 4 times exercices of full body, and this channel motivate me! thanks from France
my biggest problem has always been setting up my workout routine. i don't know whats best to set when what day. how many reps and sets. rest time in between reps and sets. do i still workout if i feel sore? how long should i warm up and what kinds should i focus for. overall body warm up or muscle specifics for the workout routine for that day. just some... basic question for a literal beginner. hope you guys can help me out!
You can always follow the recommended routine at /r/bodyweightfitness. You have a structed routine you do three times a week and can ask all of your beginner questions there. Also be sure to check out /r/fitness as well.
Well I always do at least 4 sets of anything and depending on how hard it is I give 30secs to 1min of rest If I'm tying to get used to a new hard move I do 6 sets of 1 - 3 reps For moves to do always include the basic : push ups, pull ups, dips, and squats
Download the official thenx app, you can choose daily workouts based on difficulty level, beginner, intermediate, advanced. AND HE INCLUDES HOW MANY SETS, HOW LONG TO REST, ETC. In the details of each workout
I can’t thank you enough, Chris, for all of the FANTASTIC training info you’ve put out there for everybody FOR FREE, here and on your app. It’s changing my life and I’ll be forever grateful. I hope I can meet you and shake your hand and thank you in person one day.
Bro I wish I never saw your video's! It's becoming an addiction and can't stop watching them!! If I lived by you I'd def have you as my trainer. You break things down like no other person I've seen. Your a beast bro and keep the videos coming don't stop! PEACE
Hey Chris, got any tips on how to strengthen my joints? My knees and wrists have a tendency to hurt when im exercising, especially in the beginning - despite the warmup. Love your videos, they keep me motivated. Peace!
I had the same thing happening until I got it checked out, turns out I was calcium, magnesium and potassium deficient. Get your vitamin and mineral intake on check, and this condition will start getting less and less noticeable!
This may be a weird or basic question, but what are the dimensions of that box? Is there a name for it? Is that something I can find/buy, or is it something that would need to be made?
