How to sterilize your soil mix in a microwave 

I let the soil cool down naturally. It takes, depending on the amount, something like an hour to two hours to cool down. Because you sterilzed the soil it won't develop mold if not used.

@@botanicdesigns thank you Do you keep it sealed while cooking off? If open, do you worry that a gnat will get in?

I keep the bag open in one corner because otherwise it might explode, because steam has a bigger volume than water. And no I am not afraid a gnat will get in. Even if one will get in it will die because of the heat.

No, nothing happens to microwaved water. Even after microwaving water it still stays the same water. BTW a microwave works only on wet products because the microwaves make the water molecules vibrated faster which makes the water become warm. All this without changing the water molecules. Of course you must let the soil cool down before using.
