Chris Ryan shows you some simple putting drills that can help you stop 3 putting during your rounds.
3 putting can be one of the most frustrating parts of the game, but in this short video Chris shows you a drill that you can do from long distance to improve your lag putting and pace control, then some advice on how you can improve your short putts.
Put these two together and you will be able to reduce the number of 3 putts and lower your scores.

I've been deep into these tutorials, not so much for me but for my grandson. He's just starting to get into the game and these, I think, will keep him interested and become better as time progresses - God willing. The use of devices that are readily available, other than the expensive ones, is ideal- especially for him. Keep them up!

Great tips, I’ve found lately from 3ft and in that are flat, I look at the hole as I putt rather than look at the ball and I seem to make a lot more than I used to because I make a much more confident stroke and it tends to go in at decent pace and hits the back of the hole 👍🏻

Recently had a problem with putting from range. Used this drill in today's medal and left all my long putts within less than 2feet. Will persevere with the technique. Thanks Chris.

So important to Think as you said about the process. Even if you miss it you made the putt because you followed the process. And if you keep doing that you'll be well off in the long run.

My game on Wednesday I had only two 3 putts the rest were two putts and I started using the logo of my golf ball as a line and I improved my score by 14 strokes witch helped me shoot 85 for the first time this year

I played a new course on Friday and the greens were wicked quick. I'd start on the line, but the ball was running way quicker than I'd anticipated. I did get it figured out on the back. Just a slow learner I guess. JM2C

Can be rough when the greens are different to what your used to, a little time of the practice green before hand can really help 👍

Great vid Chris, follows on from your videos last year, it works, now doing more 1 putt holes, still the odd 3 putt on holes on a slope and you are 4ft to the side, any help on these ones?

Hi Chris, I find myself sitting back at address very much, having my hip much more behind my ankles if you were drawing a line down the leg. To me this seems to even worsen the problem I have with early extension, would you agree. Do you think that's worth a video?

sorry for beeing so late, thx for your quick reply, i meant in the full swing. i just can't stop early extending, even focusing on it. it might sound silly but sometimes i get the impression, that this is also a problem of people with low bodyweight, where g-forces of the club "pull" the body in front while swinging.

Best way to stop 3 putting is get the ball nearer the hole with your approach shot :D

It’s a good point. If you are constantly leaving the ball far away from the hole on the greens, you should probably considering your approach shot routine, club selection, aggressiveness of getting nearer the hole, etc
