I’m on my fourth day and what’s been keeping me going, is watching nail art, videos of others succeeding on their journey to stop nail biting and seeing the growth. Seeing that small growth in my nails makes me so happy! I’d suggest using garlic cloves for a faster process. It takes exactly a month to fully break a habit. Let me know if you guys would like an update from me each week

A few years ago, I was a nail biter, so I tried Mavala Stop and it worked SO WELL! I used it like 2 times on my nails and I haven't bit my nails in 4 years now!

My dad bit is nails and to stop him he would put on boxing gloves. So if he wanted to bite his nails he would punch him self in the face

I bite my nails and when I went to go get my nails done, the lady got nail-clippers and she look at my nails and slooooolyyy put the nail-clippers back 🤣🤣

I've had horrible nail biting habits for most of my life, and no matter how hard I tried to stop it I never seemed to be able to I am proud to announce I have gone a year without biting my nails! :D They are the healthiest they have ever been and I'm very happy for it I pretty much used lots of different things to help me stop, like using nail filers anytime I had ragged edges, putting on spicy nail polish (this did nothing for me but it might work for someone else!) Colored nail polish so I couldn't really see my nails/bandaids (these helped the most because Everytime I bite my nails I felt something in the way and reminded myself to stop)

i bit my nails like a 👧 🐶!!! i got acrylics and when they came off my nails were extremely long and i loved it! they were also on for a month so it made me stop!!

I stopped biting my nails after getting my braces on, I just couldn't bite them so I eventually stopped

I also bite my nails I find myself doing it without even noticing sometimes. I tried getting acrylic nails to stop it which did work for about a week after they were off but then I was back at it. My mom even tried helping like everytime she would see me she would tell me to stop and I’d just sneak and do it. I find gum helps to an extent because I’m the type to need something to chew 24/7 (rather rubber, food, plastic etc...) anything chewy. I also do it when I’m stress. Yes I know I may sound like a freak for chewing on things but hey it’s a bad habit that I can’t seem to break (I feel like a addict lol)

there are 2types of nail biters: the anxious ones doing it bc they're nervous & the "ocd-ones" doing it bc their nail is just not even which is so annoying 😬

I've been a nail biter my whole life. And just recently these past months I've stopped and here's why. My friend tried to stop but failed. I did it to prove that she can do it too. And anytime I wanted to stop I kept thinking about my friend and didn't. I have now been nail biting free for 3 months and I LOVE my nails so much now. And I've also given my friend the motivation to stop as well! I say the best way is to work for something. Either set a goal for a month or two and if you reach that goal without biting your nails then you can treat yourself. Or do it for someone (like I did) and prove that what seems to be impossible isn't! :)

The thing that helped me stop biting my nails was when I had my braces as I was unable to bite anymore as my teeths were in pain. Haven't bitten my nails.

The silly potty one works I tend to bite my nails during movies and when I’m bored so the slime/ silly putty distracts me

You know you have a problem when you can take the acrylic nails off with your teeth and still have nails and you keep biting your nails

I'm 23 now and I've been biting my fingers for as long as i can remember so believe me when I say distracting yourself from biting your nails may not be the best way to solve this because at the end of the day you're not solving the underlying problem. Allow yourself to bite your nails, but as you do, observe what your are doing and thinking when it happens. It WILL be very hard in the beginning and it WILL take a some time and you WILL slip up, but that should be expected and as long as stay aware when it happens, you may come to new realizations on how to handle your problem (any problem really)! This is the best advice that works for me, hope it works for you!
