In this video I wanted to talk about things you can start doing pretty immediately in your day-to-day to increase your energy. I’ve tried to include a lot of little, very actionable changes that will make a big difference alongside more long-term changes.
In this video I talk about blood sugar! To be clear, non-diabetics will fluctuate in blood sugar throughout the day but generally stay in range and quickly recover from carb consumption. In saying that, most people aren't exempt from sugar crashes after some delish pancakes or what I call "chip brain" after some yum fries. It can be helpful to do a few of the things in this video to keep blood sugar (and energy) from crashing so much from eating sugary, processed or carb-heavy foods in your days.

☀️ This wasn't mentioned in the video! But I was shared the most recent book from www.glucosegoddess.com/ that inspired a deep dive into blood sugar. Some people are iffy about a few pieces of advice she shares (mainly the vinegar sitch from what I can tell!). But honestly - I found it helpful, the vinegar thing is harmless, and she seems to promote pretty balanced healthy eating, so give it a read if you're interested and don't have a history of rigid eating - but do your own research always.

Has nothing to do with being neurodivergent and everything to do with willpower being limited and variable. I would argue that neurotypicals actually have a worse time with this than us.

I also want to add, that under eating will make you feel super tiered. So it's important to eat as many calories as you expend to feel your best.

Things that have helped my energy levels: walking on my treadmill (any exercise can work really), drinking more water, taking vitamins, certain foods.

The struggle is so real with chronic anemia. I have had to have weekly iron infusions for almost a year and will need one to two a month for the rest of my life. I do my best to stay busy, but rest too. Lost a ton of weight for unknown reasons. Living life to the fullest. Thank you for your time and videos!

My biggest energy drainer is excessive amount of carbs, followed by lack of working out, dehydration, lack of time to unwind and finally enough sleep, or at least quality sleep.

I enjoyed this video and it was helpful. Thanks for that you did not make it long because you managed to say all important advices in that short time frame! Usually people who feel overwhelmed and think/feel that they don't have enough time to watch self - help videos, don't even watch such videos... Cause most vlogers make them extremely and not needed long... So i would like to thank you that you did it short for us ❤

Excellent video! Some more tips: Take time to do things you enjoy. Especially when you are busy, stressed, or have important commitments (whether it be work-related or other) it is necessary to have time for you. It helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and allows you to momentarily switch off. Whenever I have low energy, it's when I haven't taken time to relax and have fun. Check your nutrition. If you aren't eating well (lots of processed and 'unhealthy' foods, not eating enough, not hitting macros, calories are too low, etc.) it will have a huge impact. Also check if you have any nutrition problems...I have a dairy intolerance and I can tolerate small amounts of dairy. If I overconsume dairy, one of my biggest symptoms is fatigue. It takes weeks to start feeling better again. You may have intolerances/allergies/imbalances which are effecting your energy levels.

I’m much older than my 20’s and 30’s😅. Fun fact: a personal trainer has become instrumental in my self-care. Because they force you to think about yourself, what your body needs and what your mind needs, and you start putting those things into importance. For me, it needed the mind adjustment that I wasn’t in it for quick weight loss gains that lose permanency quick. I’ve been in it to set up healthy habits and routines for the rest of my life. 12 months so far, and while I’ve lost a lot of weight, I’ve also gained so much more energy, movement, happiness!!

Another strange phenomena I find is the effect that listening to upbeat music has on my energy through affecting my mood. It’s like a form of escapism that lifts me out of a funk more often than not. I have a very aggressive form of endometriosis and have at 39 finally been told this is why I’ve felt exhausted since 12!

When doing something for 1st time why do i feel Nervous or Doubt myself especially in past few years after some setbacks ? Especially in job interview, learning new things & proving myself..How to face the Uncertainty & win with a plan of action without Stressing under pressure ? Are there any Top books that talks about its solutions...
@hattiea
@hattiea 9 месяцев назад
Our brain likes routine and does not like trying new things. We start to doubt ourselves after a lot of setbacks and negatively self-talk which can get us into a spiral and that’s when we find it difficult to start. From experience start with one thing. So if your focus is a new job, apply for lots of jobs to get experience at job interviews and you will feel more comfortable with them. Take deep breaths and enjoy the journey, you’ll get there. Take one small step and another. Good luck!

Unless you have diabetes or another condition, your blood sugar is likely to remain very stable all day thanks to your fabulous pancreas!!!
@muchelleb
@muchelleb 9 месяцев назад
Hmm ~ I get bad sugar crashes / pasta crashes sans diabetes, though I’m sure some people don’t experience that - do you think it could change from person to person depending even in people without diabetes? I once read a greaaat study about people who were told that they were drinking a “healthy” milkshake and didn’t experience any spike in blood sugar vs people who drank the same milkshake and were told it was a decadent, sugary milkshake and had massive spikes in blood sugar so I wonder if that ties in at all. I’m interested!
@Natalie-ng5wt
@Natalie-ng5wt 9 месяцев назад
Disagree - for example, low blood sugar levels directly contribute to your mood ("hanger" signals to you that you need food). If you have a high sugar food item, it absolutely will impact your blood sugar, regardless of whether your pancreas functions well or not (it's to do with how quickly the food you are eating releases glucose into your bloodstream, as opposed to how fast your pancreas deals with it. The more simple sugar it is, the faster it is released. The crash comes following that). I recommend reading The Glucose Goddess' work to understand more.
