How to stop feeling ugly 

Working to be a good person is a good distraction from obsession over looks.

I think that anytime I focus on my looks, it’s because I’m feeling insecure about another facet of my personality/abilities and I revert back to my looks to seek value there instead as it seems easier to control (even if it’s not).

I really support your message, but no, beauty is not a social construct, at least a big part of it is not. There is a human beauty concept that pretty much everyone share, and a beautiful man/woman will be recognised instantly as such by anyone from anywhere in the world. This is however not a fatality, far from it, I agree !

When you look in the mirror imagine this was the face of a friend, family member or someone your truely love. This is not you. There is no need to search for any flaws, this person is perfect how they are Nevada you love them. Then step away from the mirror. It is just a reflection of the outside, remember no matter how beautiful or not your friends outside is the inner beauty is radiant and you need to celebrate it to make it shine even more.
