I’ve been using the Andis T outliner my whole shaving life and literally this week I decided, against my Barber’s advice and my own intuition, to try to use a razor to wet shave; wanted to try something new. I started to feel like under my chin was bruised and sore. ...... Never again lol If anyone else feels like they want a closer shave with the Andis shavers go to a professional blade sharpener (I asked my barber) and get them to sharpener the blade in your electric shaver I think us black men, especially with curly hair, should avoid the razors all together unless it’s the single straight blade
Somehow late to ask this question but did you use any after shave creams or oil after getting your try shave with the trimmer? I'm 18 and i got some facial hair but i dont really wanna use the shaving cream and all that stuffs as i'm afraid of getting Razor Bumps. If you are down, we can chat on Twitter so you can give me more advise if you are willing to, i just need to find out from someone who has really tried it and is black too lol, we black guys dont have it too easy with shaving. I live abroad so i'm mostly surrounded by white guys lmao. Thanks for your time.
thank you for the information. It's always great to hear another person's tried and tested methods of how they groom themself. Especially as a fellow young black (and ethnic) background. Blessings to you sir!
Andis professional liners used by barbers does not go dull quickly, however you can realign your blade if you find it's not cutting closely which will last many years...
The trimmer I use is the wahl razor edge. It just as good as any of the professional grade Andis trimmer. For my head I use Oster fast feed with Speed -O- Guide. I have same shaver as you . One thing to know about the Andis trimmers is that Andis outliner two and Andis T outliner are 10 watts. Where the Andis headliner 2 trimmer from Walmart has same blade as Andis T outliner and is 12 watts. To get the full 12 watts out of the Andis headliner 2 use swap over the cord from Andis T outliner or Andis outliner two. As for the Wahl razor edge you can bump it from 9 watts to 10 watts if you like just make re-line the blades after turning the screw
To be honest ive watched countless hours of videos and this is the first one where it felt like he was speaking directly to my life i mean literally with the Girlfriends and all haha! great advice im going to try it starting today
for those one who have super senitive skin like me. shave only with andis t outliner or trimmers that goes very close to dry shave. i tried safety razor and wahl 5 star shaver shaper and both of them give me razor bumps, rushes and its painfull asf during the next days.
I've been using these two for over 4 years now. It's not bad. Not perfect, but much better then shaving and other products I've tried. However, I wonder how the Andi's "T-liner" would compare to the relatively new "Philips OneBlade." I've heard great things about the "OneBlade," but I don't want to waste my money if it's not any better then the "T-liner," for brothers like us who are prone to bumps and ingrown hairs.
You are right I just use the andis t-outliner and its close enough for me and no razor bumps. For many years I used those gillette sensor razors and they are horrible for the skin. Now I am trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation that was caused by years of shaving.
@@iblattparty671 I had hyperpigmentation on the sides of my face and underneath my chin and neck area. Razor bumps seems to cause layers of hyperpigmentation . Over the years I have used a product called Tend Skin along with some thing for hyperpigmentation like hydroquinone or Vitamin C. However the only thing that completely cleared my skin and cured hyperpigmented areas is to grown a beard and stop shaving for months at a time. When I do shave to avoid razor bumps I use the t outliner and for a close save without the razor bumps I will go over my face with an Andis foil shaver.
Yeah, I switched to electric shavers about 4 years ago and only use twin blade disposable for mustache area and clean up afterwards and have seen about 50% improvement but still have to use some sort of anit-bump solution....and am just tired and thinking about laser hair removal for my neck and cheeks.
Great information! I've been dry shaving using an Andis clipper for the last couple of years. It does a very good job at bump control, but I've never followed up with a Wahl shaver. I'm ordering one now!
I will try the wahl. The and is profoil used to be the best close shaver to avoid razor bumps. I'd learned, way late, about shaving with the t outliner. I wish I had only ever shaved with it from the start.
Johnny Hustle Based on the ‘men’ I come across during my daily life in Japan who have beards, nothing could be further from the truth. A bunch of beta males who speak with the reasoning of angry feminists. And I’m not talking about Japanese men.
Good video brotha....I'm gonna subscribe! I use the Wahl G-Whiz trimmer and the Wahl 5-Star trimmer when I shave just like you do.. However....I didn't think of using the SENSITIVE foil on the 5 star trimmer. I've been using the super close foils Lol! Good stuff. I'll have to try that. I don't have alot of bumps at all because I've been using this combo for about 3 yrs now. Under the neck I still get a little irritation which is why I'm going to try those sensitive foils. For face wash I use Dove White bar or the Cetaphil which I just started using. Works great!
I have a very tough beard so i use both products shown in this video. I think it’s really bout which way of shaving works for that particular person’s skin. I usually wash my face with soap first b4 i shave. Razor blades, shaving creams do NOT work for me. Back in the day i tried to use a razor blade with cream and it felt smooth for a day or two then the bumps showed up. My barber told me to leave my face alone, grow a beard then try an electric razor haven’t had a bump since.
@@jignaeri9761 I used Gillette many years ago. Now I just use Andis Electric razors with that small one the guy mentioned in the video. No more bumps or problems since.
+Mark The Tremor Trainer are the black "lithium" heads okay to use? or should I still stick with the black "sensitive" heads on the foil shaver by wahl?
I can't use either so i switched to double ege razor with bump patrol shaving cream and bump patrol maximum strength after shave. Works like a charm and at night i use bump stopper. Day time i used coconut oil to keep mybskin moist.
Thanks for your comment, bro. Since putting out this video I’ve started supplying a hair trimmer I now use instead of the Andis. In my opinion I think it’s even better. It’s not as harsh on the skin. I also started using the Wahl hypoallergenic foil instead of the sensitive foil. Both are about the same.
Where can I get the black sensitive foil. I looked in amazon and I can only find a black super close foil. is that the one? I would greatly appreciate it if you can send me the link.
Hi, thank you so much for posting all this detailed information, it's very much appreciated. Can I ask you please, having listened to every step in your process which you outlined, I am a little curious. Because you have admitted that after using each shaving tool you experience a deep burn once you then apply the post shave balm. With your skin them being so reactive, how do you manage to immediately scrub it with an abrasive cloth in the shower?, or do you wait for several hours to pass or the following day before you do that final shower step to exfoliate? Sorry to be picky, but if I follow your lead which I will to some degree, I want to prevent any undue discomfort I may experience if I inadvertently over-expose my skin to abrasive treatments. Thanks very much once again 🙂
Hey! Most of the burn comes from the Andis T-Outliner, and not the Wahl Shaver Shaper because the blades are quite sharp, and I have sensitive skin. Since making this video I stopped using the Andis, and have been using a zero-gapped hair trimmer you can get on Amazon for about $20. They come in black and gold. I started selling them for a while, but the market is saturated with them. The scrubbing in the shower with the nylon cloth is not as bad as you think. I always shower immediately after the dry shave, and I’m fine. Recently I upgraded to the Wahl Finale, still using the sensitive head I buy directly from the Wahl website, and I haven’t been getting bumps. The key is to have sharp blades on your clippers or hair trimmer to get the shave close before you smooth things off with the Wahl. After my shower I use the unscented Vaseline lotion (in the white bottle) to moisturize, and finish off with a vitamin C oil, which really helps with getting rid of the dry ashiness I get on my neck. That is something I buy at the drugstore in Japan. Hope this helps. Key thing is to let all your hair grow out, and don’t shave until all sensitivity is gone. Good luck!
Peace to the Homie for this video. I suggest using the Andis Profoil along with the trimmer. It will have you as smooth as a straight razor. Make sure you exfoliate after using.
I have both the Andis Profoil and the Wahl shaver. The Wahl is much better in my opinion. It's simply more powerful and cuts closer. I actually used the Wahl for months first and then bought the Andis later. I was happy with the Wahl but was thinking maybe I could find something better, hence the Andis. Save your money, not even close. Wahl all the way. I just ordered the sensitive attachment though. Hopefully I won't bump anymore at all.
Also, there's two versions of bump patrol, regular and maximum strength. Maximum strength works best for me and goes on clear unlike the regular strength. The regular strength dries to a white milky film on your face. As a result, I only used it at night. The maximum can be used whenever because you can't see it.
Wanted to post links to the products, but seems like they have been selling out FAST. I suspect the people who have been watching this video have been snapping them up fast.
khriseagle I'll update the description with links VERY soon. The cloth link might be difficult because I live in Japan. Another option is to use those course shower gloves.
I use a braun 9095 and a Panasonic eslv95 they pair well together . I still get burn in the back neck area . Almost forgot to mention I shave my head as well as my face
Could you do a review on the pit bull shaver? I found out I can't get that close shave without getting little bumps on the back of my neck. I use extreme bumb stopper and exfoliate but after so many shaves I still get the small bumps. So I need a little stubble instead of that baby smooth cut. Pit bull shaver after looking at reviews seems to give you that. The upside of that shaver is the time it saves in shaving. If I'm doing I t every morning I want to get it out the way. That's just my take on it, so if you got the time I'd like to hear what you have to say about that shaver.
Eric I’m a bit cautious about trying things like that. You know the old saying, “If it ain’t broken, don’t try to fix it”? I could test it and mess myself up and then have to start from scratch. Why don’t you try it and tell me how it worked for you? Upload a video and share it with me. ✌🏾
Mark's Mind OMG you’ve saved my life man.. I’ve never in my WHOLE LIFE felt my face to be this smooth. Thank god im still young and have found what works for me as I have to shave everyday in the military. Lastly, I just need to buy a good cream to start getting rid of the scaring on my neck and I’m set for LIFE lol. What was the cream you recommend to start rubbing on scarring brother? Thank a lot you’ve changed the game for my face and skin.
Man this is great help and I hope it works for me , but id like to know a few things pleaseee.1) Do u let your beard grow back and if so do u still get razor bumps?2) Do u use the nylon cloth after or b4 shaving?3) Tbh I got way too much questions
Paul Junior Hey man! I sometimes let it grow a little, like over the weekends, and I get no razor bumps. I use the nylon cloth in the shower after I shave. About to go do that now. ☺
Crazy thing is I skipped over shaving with a razor and tried clippers and they messed me up so bad under my chin and neck area.I tried laser hair removal and feel as if it made it worse with the hyperpigmentation and stuff.I really need some advice
clean your face with baking soda and warm water mix it together paste like form after shaving face do it for like 3 time's a week bumps be gone trust me it works
What would you suggest for razor bumps on the back of the head? They come and go. Look like pimples. I bust them just like pimples. I work in a warehouse and also I swear from working and playing sports as well as lifting weights and it feels like it gets bad back there. If you suggest anything I deeply appreciate it.
blaze318318 If your neck bumps come and go it’s probably likely that it has more to do with what your barber uses on your hairline. I’d suggest not having him/her using a straight razor round there. Just use the clippers. Just like I use the needle to flick out the ingrown hairs, I’d suggest that you get your significant other to get them out for you that way.
It will be helpful if you list the steps. First what did you do to get rid of razor bumps at the time they were apparent? Did you just leave it and they went away or did you use anything in conjunction with needles? Also, I am assuming you do nothing before you shave to open your pours etc. Would be helpful if you listed it.
PADDY D I used nothing in conjunction with the needle. My girlfriend just lifted out the hairs over a period of days, and I didn’t shave during that time. When the sensitivity went, I shaved with the andis, and then wahl. I then scrubbed my face in the shower with the nylon cloth. It’s just that simple.
Was curious, did the super close head give you bumps and burning and is that why you recommend the sensitive foil head ? Does the sensitive head give any bumps?
The super close head definitely gave me bumps. With the the sensitive head it’s not so bad if I move it very gently over my skin. Please check out the description box for a cordless hair trimmer I started selling that comes highly recommended by me.
What is the difference between the 5-Star Series #7031-400 Replacement Foil, #7031-300 Replacement Foil, #7031-200 Replacement Foil and the #7031-100 Replacement Foil?
The Wahl shaver gave me razor bumps all over my cheeks. I've never had a razor bump in 10 years until I tried that Wahl shaver. I'll stick with the T-Outliners.
It’s fair to say that I made my situation worse by tweezing them out but the.crazy thing is that I went they puberty with little to no acne but my skin is very sensitive and I’ve never ever shaved
Mark's Mind afterwards I always rinse my face with cold water because it closes your pores then I facial cleanse and rinse with cold water again. And use Diabetic lotion because it really keeps my face moisturized.
They used to be on Amazon, but you can get them directly from the Wahl website. I recently upgraded to the Wahl Finale with the sensitive foil. No bumps. wahl.com
You’re not going to get it with the sensitive head. You have to buy it separately directly from their website. It used to be on Amazon, but not anymore.
stanis3k Hey! I live in Japan, and their website is in Japanese only. Besides that, like most things I like in Japan, rest assured they’ll discontinue selling it like this nylon cloth. Where do you live?
Sup Bro! I know this is not a recent upload. If you want to learn how to sharpen your blades on your Andis Outliner blades. See videos on using a sharpening stone.
Dry shaved saved me I turned 18 I shave a lot to keep my youthful appearance but I will grow my facial hair eventually just not right now and wet shave was the worst thing I did my mom told I’m not supposed to use razor as black so I switch to t liners the best thing I ever did
Devin Johnson they can last quite a while. I changed the foil and the blade thingy recently on mine. The old ones were on there for about a year. I reckon I’ll do it every six months from now on.
