All comes down to one thing. Fear of Death. Which is really a hard thing to let go but we health anxiety sufferers must program our subconscious mind to believe that we should not fear things that is not happening yet. focus on the present moment and try not to control things we can’t control. I’m not yet 100% anxiety free but I’m on the path to recovery and realized that anxiety is a friend that will strengthen our minds. Let’s all overcome this!

Health anxiety is such a hard struggle. The cycle is 1. Uncomfortable feeling. 2. Catastrophic thoughts. 3. Physical symptoms of anxiety kick in and make it worse. 4. Feeling silly after you’ve calmed down somewhat. 5. Back to step 1. My goals are to stop having to take medications as well as being able to live my life!

This is so true. I read a horoscope a couple weeks ago that said I could be more sensitive to chemicals and radiation. It probably seems ridiculous to other people, but for an anxiety sufferer like me, it was just enough to make me spiral. had to get a PET scan and I’m so afraid of having been exposed to that radiation that I feel like I have to check my body constantly for any sign of cancer that the radiation might have caused. It feels like I can’t relax or let it go because I’m scared that I’ll develop cancer and ignore the symptoms and let it get out of hand. I don’t like to talk to people about it because I know how ridiculous it is to believe a horoscope, but it’s been on my mind so much that it’s become absolute truth to me in my mind. Of course I don’t want to live this way, but the anxiety is almost like a blanket of protection that’s protecting me from the unknown. I’m so tired of feeling this way, I’m only 23 and I feel like I’m wasting my youth worrying about something that isn’t true. Sorry for the long comment, it just feels good venting to people who understand me. Happy Wednesday Warriors ❤️

I was so freaked out thinking I was going to have to give up my profession, my art career, the love of playing my piano. Horrible thoughts stirred in my head constantly. Until I got xRayed. Thanks for these videos. New subscriber. Enjoying your content. I have suffered with health anxiety for 7 years since getting diagnosed with a thyroid disease, which causes anxiety. I have seen a few hypnotherapists that tell me i am hanging onto the anxiety. The thing is i don't feel asthough i am. I would love nothing more than to be free of this. So how can i be hanging onto it? I'm not afraid to change "who i am" i don't ever identify myself as an anxious person - although people tell me i am. I never say "my anxiety" becasue it's not who i am. Why can't i be healed from this? I obsess over my health because i am scared of dying as i am terrified of leaving my son whilst he's still young. It's not the face i'm scared of getting such and such disease, im scared of leaving this world because of my son.

My dad was always seriously ill when I was growing up and he passed away when he was in his 50s. I'm certain that's the reason behind my health anxiety. My biggest struggle with letting go of the anxiety is that if I'm not hyper aware of everything going on with my body, I could potentially miss something that truly is wrong and it could go unnoticed for too long. Working hard every day to overcome it but it's easier said than done! Thanks for your videos Dennis, they are the biggest driver of the progress I've made so far.

When anxiety becomes entangled with your identity as a person, the answer it seems must be to re -invent yourself, let go of the past and almost start again as if you are a child who has had no bad experiences. We need to make new neural pathways in order to change the old way of thinking to a new, more positive way. I am in the process of doing this, and it is exhausting but will be worth it if i can become free of anxiety.

You’re doing great things on this channel! Thanks much for doing what you do. My anxiety kicked in during my fathers death. I’m not afraid to die but afraid of going through the process of some fatal disease or medical condition as my father did. It haunts the heck out of me. I’m constantly thinking his condition is hereditary and I’m going to have the same problem he did. So much so that I have feelings that seem to be exactly what I think he would’ve had but I really don’t even know what sensations/symptoms he had. As soon as I get my mind busy with something other than that, my sensations go away. Actually, I was just having them and as I started typing this comment, they are gone and I feel fine. So crazy how much my mind screws with me over this. It is very frustrating and can ruin my life if I don’t figure this out and get over it somehow.

Start by making your own food it will probably ease your mind a little bit because why would you drug yourself, you can trust yourself. And as for a drink, water? Boil it first that will get rid of anything bad in it, it will bring comfort to you. Baby steps. I to struggle with this but slightly different I fear when someone gives me something its drugged or they're trying to drug me, so I dont accept anything from anyone.

I never knew this was a thing until this year and I recently had an allergic reaction from sunflower. Even though I’ve had health anxiety all year now, that reaction was supposed to soothe me from fearing of my throat closing up on me. This fear has developed after dealing with extreme anxiety giving me the feeling of my throat closing and feeling like I cannot breathe. So now I obsessively fear taking certain medication, and now, eating these egg rolls I enjoy because I had a reaction from the sunflower oil I was frying the rolls in. I’m not even completely sure. I’m probably going to go to the hospital tomorrow or some time this week so I can check in on my vitals. Health anxiety is so hard 😔😔

I am afraid of dying before my long range personal project that will benefit the world is completed 2. I am afraid of all illness that is fatal or will take away my working ability 3.A. friend in the same field died before she could finish her project and her last posts were all regret on not finishing it 3B. at same time I pinched nerve in my shoulder and lost feeling in my drawing arm I use every day for a year. I lost trust in my body. How do I regain trust in my body? how do I stop the anxiety of dying before I finish my projects? :(

I have to stop checking in and just let go. Maybe it is spasm, maybe it is prickling but it’s just me finally working out my weak weak muscles and injuries due to lack of exercise and self care for. Here’s my thing. I am scared of dying, not getting sick. I feel like i could pretty much cope with any diagnosis as long as I can be treated and not die. This is because I am terrified of leaving my kids. The thing that triggered the awful health anxiety that i feel (not just for me but for my families health) is my son being diagnosed with a rare life threatening illness in 2016. Even though I was always prone to anxiety, that event, including the sheer terror leading up to his diagnosis is what has got me to this place. Some days are worse than others but any kind of medical issue, even a trip to the dentist will put me in a tail spin. I dont know how to get past it.

Tina, I totally relate to what you are feeling. I share all your crazy feelings. I too, although prone to depression and anxiety, in the past managed it. It never manifested into obsessions. Things changed this past May when a panic attack landed me in the Er thinking i was dying. A thyroid issue was found and from that day forward every single symptom is catastrophized to agonizing suffering and ultimately an untimely death. If i look back, my healthy husbands threatening health issues as well as a suicide of a child led to the flood gates opening when i had my issue 3 months ago. Im stuck here. Im dying from new things daily. I do have symptoms and have started tests to find out if there really is an illness. I fear that my fear is intuition and not crazy obsessions and if i dont pay attention and do something im wasting time. This is horrible. Reach out if you need to. Terrible to be so isolated in this. We are all gonna die, but i dont want to live in this fear until i do. God Bless u

Letting go and trusting is terrifying because "this time it's for real" the sensation or lump, mark what ever has triggered you to truly believe "this time" ( because the previous 100 times I was wrong and nothing was wrong) you have a serious problem the fear is stronger than me. It puts up a better fight, hence the compulsions. I can assure you I want nothing more in my life than to have the courage to not seek reassurance. Oh my God it is sooo hard difficult living like that. Every day seems like a struggle and we overanalyze everything we feel or the fears we have. I really hate it being like that but at the same time cannot feel ok let these sick habits go away. It is true that this is something like psychological addiction to suffering and over controlling everything. This is a vicious and snicky cycle for anybody to live in. We get used to this toxic thing and becomes a part of our identity. This is the key to recover to me. Try to break this connection to the bad habit of fear and over analysing everything happening mentally and physically trying to solve problems every minute of our days. We don't want to live in this low, poor state of living this is not our real self. We are way more than that but we just cannot see it clearly yet.
