I love the 4 question concept. I started eating guacamole on cumcumber slices as an alternative to avacadoe on toast, my body and spirit was much more prepared for the day. Give Thanks Mindful Plate

That's a great substitute. I love avocado toast but mostly tolerate sourdough or the breads I make from scratch. Asking those questions really help us hone in to what's best for us!

Love the idea of taking extra food out BEFORE you start eating 😋 that way I wouldn't be tempted to finish it all in the one sitting.

Sure thing, these tips have absolutely helped me go from a size 12 to a size 2 in one year. I finally stopped overeating due to my emotional attachment to food and these practical strategies made meal time so much easier for me.

These are all extremely solid and great advice tips for dieting. Going to be trying these. I think meal prepping can also help - cooking and storing food meals every few days.

Suncrea, I just realized that there are 2 Rice and Peas recipes. One is made from cauliflower which is in the cookbook I linked. The other is made with rice which is in my friend Jamila's Cookbook Earth Candy Arts. You'd have to go to her site to get it. I LOVE the idea of bringing your own to-go container to restaurants! I mean, I bring my own bags to the grocery store - why not bring my own to-go container (#genius). I'm thinking just knowing it's in my bag will put me in the mindset that I don't have to eat it all, I can enjoy it at home. Even if I don't remove any of the food in advance. Thanks for the amazing idea, Shelley! 🙂❤

Such a good point! I didn't think about it that way ---we already bring our own bags to the grocery store! And yes, knowing that you don't have to eat it all and can enjoy it again at home is the WIN for me!

Excellent tips! What you didn't mention about portioning restaurant meals right away is that you get to enjoy it all again for another meal at home a couple of days later!

I don’t teach a cap on how much or how often you should eat. Instead, I teach that you should listen to your body’s hunger and full signals and only eat when hungry. And then stop when full. I also teach to be mindful of why you’re eating. Are you eating to avoid life? numb emotions? distract yourself? Procrastinate? Because the food tastes good and you just GOTTA have that last bite? Getting in touch with the reasons why you eat can help with overeating or mindless eating or emotional eating. Ultimately your body knows how much food it needs and when it needs to eat. Hey! i have some questions since Im overweight at 14... So pretty much i don't eat a lot of meals, but too big portions. I eat till im full, but that brought me here at this weight. For example, if my mom is making lasagne, and if i eat just a little, then I feel like the rest is waisted. The rest of my family doesn't eat it since its gluten free lasagne. I am really insecure and really hate how i look, get bullied too.

Hey! So nice to meet you and I’m glad you reached out. I know how it feels to live inside a body you’re insecure about. I also know how it feels to thrive in a body you love. I’d love to help you do the latter. Starting with your eating habits is a great place. Fullness can vary for everyone. When I learned what “full” felt like, I realized that I had been eating until I was stuffed and overfull. I mistakenly thought that it meant I was full. @@dablabo So sorry, I thought I'd responded earlier . It sounds like noticing your fullness cue will help you a lot. And yes, I primarily coach women, however I've worked with men as well. It's absolutely okay that you're a boy. The newsletter may help you with some tips for mindful eating overall.
