I'm glad that you are so open to talk about your own toxicity. Usually streamers are 100% toxic or trying to be as positive as possible but they are dying inside because they can't vent. I can see how therapeutic this video can be for you and the viewers because you are relatable and open
I dont think its toxic to call a team member a piece of shit noob behind his back tho. As long as you dont say it in match it shouldn't effect the game at least.
@@Jebu911 Yeah, you have tendency to being toxic but you don't carry out. I'm sometimes toxic to my teammates but important is to be able to process your emotions. I have friend that all the time says "don't stress" when we play but he is all the time stressing. It is annoying and you can't really do anything about it because he doesn't understand his own feelings. If you mention that he is stressing while saying "don't stress", he takes it as a toxic gesture 😂
my strategy is, trashtalk people talking to myself, but in-game i give advice (which they can listen to or not listen to, whatever), and if they make a smart play, i compliment it.
Bad draft problem is just about having the later picks and not picking appropriately. If you just intend to play a hero no matter what , just first pick it.
When carries ping to deward cause they just died in a very dangerous location and the reason you havent dewarded is cause you dont want to feed by going into that location alone.
I’m glad you took the time to do this, it was cathartic to see higher ranked players recognize and discuss common mistakes. Especially thankful you offered solutions and devil’s advocate on a lot of the points. Interesting how so much of success in Dota comes down to honing your communication skills.
"Some dude just got to beat the shit out of him" As a support player, I agree with this. Pos 1 players when given good laning/early stage tends to get overconfident to the point that they'll forget map awareness.
Stopped playing Dota 2 after TI6, but I can't stop myself from watching content from Slacks, Purge and other personalities in Dota community. It feels like I have aged a decade, but Slacks looks and sounds like he's getting younger by the year. And the aura of his is always awesome!
For real, I've been out of DotA for 2 years now, never once thought about getting back in, and this video popped up on my feed and I'm 1:20:00 in and thinking "man I should reinstall DotA...' And it's a video about toxic behaviour! But it's still just such a fun video that I'm remembering the good times! What the hell?
For no BKB you just gotta farm up a glimmer or lotus depending on if they are getting nuked or stunned in their damage window and just accept your new role as a BKB from Temu
Another way I recently found out a throw can happen: Team decides to split up and within the span of 30 seconds proceed to unceremoniously die one by one in completely disconnected places. Wasn't even mad, just baffled at what I was witnessing.
Thank you for hitting pretty much every single kind of grief I've experienced, i love how zq always tried to put a positive spin for a potential solution to try and salvage every single situation
"Notail said 'Go with it, you gotta go with it' " I'm crying Slacks is referring to Notail's: "When the game starts going full retard, you have to go with it. If you start going against it, you start going half retard, you're done. The game is done right there. You can't go half retard, you better go full. If the game is going full you better follow." Legendary words from the legend himself.
I feel like we all just went through a bit of very needed therapy, just hearing it aired makes me feel better about my own frustrations, this was incredible I'm literally gonna re-watch it again.
That was honestly so good. Never expected to watch an 1.50 tier list video, but the combo of you and slacks worked so well. There was good advice coming from both the immortal and normal person perspective that ill definitely be able to use. Tbh I'd love to see more of this sort of content that is taking a step back and looking at the big picture principles of dota in a long form discussion. Grest background listening
This has been MOST salubrious! Cuz I have actually seen ALL OF THESE and tilt at the just the signs. Jungling and Never pushing are super common down here. But I do feel represented thru this vid. I may yet play a game after a week off. GOOD VID GUYS!!
Good content. What I really hate on being support is having a bad draft and you can't control what to counter or adjust on your team because SUPPORT ARE FIRST PHASE PICK, and then you see your core picking something that does not make sense! At that moment my head really hurts on how I can contribute to win this game with a really BAD DRAFT!
SirActionSlacks truly is a gem and has been the biggest and best personality in Dota through the times. At least, to me! So much good content from this guy throughout the years. He has truly lifted the entertainment of the TI's and Majors he's been at. So happy to have him in the Dota community, wouldn't be the same without him. There are a lot of other talent I love as well, like Sunsfan and Synderen, ODpixel, Sheever, 2GD and many many more. But to me SirActionSlacks is at the top. Great video, hope to see some more colabs with you in the future, great vibes!
Awesome content ! Btw, i had a game yesterday, where WD escaped the ban phase somehow. And my mid wanted me to pick it to deny them the option. Problem is I never played WD before ! Granted it's a super meta hero, very strong at the moment. But i fed all the game, because of wrong positioning since i didn't know the range of the spells, and so on ... It happened several times, either for me, or with a teammate picking a hero to "deny" it, even though they can't play it.
not a throw per se, but a carry getting killed in full vision of enemy approaching for 15 seconds. spams "we need wards". YOU SAW THEM! What kind of ward do you need? a ward that predicts the future and plays your hero for you?
Im glad i watched this, amazing conversation about struggle in dota but with ways to deal with it in positive way. Thanks! ps: Warding cliffs over and over again should earn a spot in the list :P
As a chick playing this game, I personally refuse to talk on voice. I have experienced multiple games where people purposely throw the game just because they find out there's a girl on their team. Either they find it funny to troll a girl, or they get pissed there's a girl on their team period. It's unfortunate but talking on voice is not an option for me because of this.
it's understandable that you might have degenerates but not every player will be like that, I have couple of friends who play dota with who are girls, communication is very important in pvp games, even though typing can work but it takes time to use the keyboard and pings can help but it's limited with it's uses and people are way more attentive to voice chat than words and pings because some people won't pay attention to those if for example lets say a core is farming. hope you have better experiences in the future.
16:56 Remember playing a game where our hard carry said he only knows how to play support hero cause he need role token and picked all roles and landed at carry. He picked jakrio Safe Lane and completely dominate the game from start to finish
Personal S-tier is when I make BIG STACKs and NOBODY FREAKING FARMS THEM?!??!?!?!?!?!? And then the enemy invades our jungle once and steals all my stacks and now they're rich and I'm poor for nothing.
I got burned too hard by that. Now I stack only if I can take em myself when nobody wants it. Techies is very good for that. Or THD or something. OR even a CM ult =)
As a offlaner that doesn’t pick axe. I fucking hate it when enemy first pick dazzle. My team knows it. I know it. We all know it’s a axe game. But I go ahead and pick necrophos and get reported xD
People whose only communication is their hero laughing voice line, especially teammates. No matter what happens, they spam that after anything. Get a kill, *laugh*; one of our teammates dies, *laugh*; communicate our next play, *laugh*; they die, *laugh*. Tilts me super hard and I wish the chat wheel was mutable. Definitely A tier or above.
One very important that is missing, probably because of your high level but is supports that keep walking around not doing anything at all, especially the pudges and miranas that just sit there looking around trying to hit a hook or arrow while your bleeding in the lane or while the enemy support hits you to death, your RANGED support is back there looking around doing nothing lol
The bad draft part is so true as a support. Carries want you to pick first phase, okay, i pick my high winrate pugna pos 4. Offlane complains that there's no stun WHEN YOU LITERALLY HAVE THE OPTION TO PICK A STUN HERO SINCE YOU'RE SECON PHASE
The communication thing definitely varies depending on the server/region. I have played with russian players and they are toxic but they will communicate, however in the sea region most players tend to play with speakers and no headsets, so they tend to mute you the moment you start speaking in mic. I have lived in the Philippines, and you don't want to play with a headset on for 2-3 hours because of the added heat, and you dont want your family to hear you talking on the pc, or they live in apartments that it would be weird to hear screaming in the middle of the night.
Slacks needs to release an announcer where he is berating the team in jamaican accent like in his old witchdoctor videos. "I am a docta, and you are fucked up!"
This Video broke me mentally because everything I DID TOO but I learned and now everytime it happens in my games I AM SO FRUSTRATED xD but y, communication is key and if ppl don't communicate proper, mute them in an instant and go for the win!
The "win lane/loose game" hit waaay close to heart... just few minutes ago I had a lane, where I as a venge support left as 3/0/6 and my FV had 6/0/3. Only for him to in the LAST TEAMFIGHT use his ult on gyro that had satanic turned on, smashed that refresh orb, ult him again and just die to his scepter... Good tip, once I'll ever win a lane I'm dippin'
