You use the figure 8 incorrectly. You're supposed to offset the strap so you're anchoring it to your wrist and bar, removing your grip from the equation. Try it out. You'll see the figure 8 probably has the tightest tension on the bar compared to all the other straps. It's really great for dead lifting and pull ups or any type of pulling type of lifting where you don't need to immediately drop the bar. At first I tried it the way you did and it did not work in helping at all, then I watched some more videos and see the correct way to use it.

@@baileymaule2582 actually if you want to focus soley on ur back nd ur grip is not permitting you to train in it well, straps come in clutch. Still prefer chalk
