I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful video. This one really validated everything I have been feeling. I am so happy to learn of Dr. Mary so I can learn more about how to be healthier as I navigate this path! Terri, you are amazing and have taught me so much as well as helped me connect to others. Keep up this important work! I signed up for Boundary Bootcamp, so see you there! Denise
So interesting! I would love to hear more about HRT. I eschewed it at menopause and now 10 years later have osteoporosis despite being fit and having a healthy diet. Definitely going to look at Dr. Vonda. Thanks again for the diet info, heading over to Dr Haver's website. Thanks again both of you!!
Has anyone else Noticed their balance being affected ? I am always an inch from being on my face. Thank you for this. It’s the first time in my life that I truly felt I could die and not care. My emotions were totally flattened out and it was terrifying.
YES for sure! I was walking one day and suddenly felt so off balance, like being on a little boat trying to stand up. I was very awful for many years. I don't t have it as much as I use to but it was totally disabling. Very hard to walk for exercise or even shop. I went to every type of doctor possible and had all kinds of test. So maybe it all came down to perimenapause. I'm sorry you are going through the balance problem It really is an awesome thing!😢
@@lori7008 thank you! I hate for others to go through it but I’m always glad to know it’s not rare and can be worked through. I think we are so used to taking care of others as women that we push all of our own maladies to the side and just tough through them. With this it was the first time I couldn’t do that. I really was a mess from depression and hormones (or lack of ) and the worst part was my apathy. I didn’t care. I really isolated myself and I mean it when I say my emotions were so dull that I let lifelong friendships go and did not care. Still don’t. I know it sounds awful (but I don’t care) lol.
Thank you Terri!! for another life changing video. Having boundaries with your health care providers has been a game changer for me. I’ve used your scripts in Boundary Boss to come successfully through menopause in an honoring way for me. It would not have happened without your body of work. Thank you Thank you!
Wow you mentioned privileged as a white woman 👩 imagine being black? It’s medical disparities still to this day....🙈🙉🙊if Oprah is going through it God Bless us all!
Gracias por sugerirme este video, Terri! Muy interesante conocer lo que hago bien por mí ahora que estoy en la postmenopausia, y lo que podría mejorar. Abrazo!
I appreciate your educating us ladies and empowering us!! I am a perimenopausal woman who has had to advocate for herself big time. My DHEA and testosterone were in the dump last year. My obgyn never checked my DHEA level because it's not typically done. She just prescribed wild yam derived compounding pharmacy testosterone. That helped me focus, but it didn't help my energy levels. I discovered on my own DHEA has been super helpful.. my energy levels are back up.
Dr. Mary is recommending 25g of protein per meal. I found this blog on her website that includes a citation: thepauselife.com/blogs/the-pause-blog/10-tips-for-optimizing-the-hormones-that-control-your-weight-in-menopause
ok so this is all about disregarding the study that discovered that women in hormone replacement developed siginificant levels of cancer? . It is obvious that the hormone replacement relieves all the negative symptomps of menopause but the key is to know if taking hormone replacement puts you in high risk of having cancer. I am still waiting the answer from this or any other doctor that promotes hormone therapy. Why the famous study is now being disregarded?? like, hey! you do not need to suffer, be slim, be happy,oh, one little note, you have 25% of having cancer or die, not reasonable
You need to read the book Estrogen Matters by Drs Avrum Bluming and Carol Tavries that gives a critiques the WHI . What they have to say may shock you. First that supposed 25% increased breast cancer risk is relative risk NOT absolute risk . It amounts to one extra case of breast cancer per 1000 women .An absolute 25%increase in cases means for every 100 women taking hormones 25 would get breast cancer. Dr Bluming has a paper out and a recent podcast explaining that the 25% relative risk is not accurate. As women we have been royally screwed over by this study and menopause research has fallen off since the WHI.

The WHI study did NOT find significant levels of cancer. Instead, there was a statistically insignificant rise in breast cancer in the cohort on Progestin (synthetic progesterone that is rarely used today and is not bio-identical) and conjugated estrogen (from horse/mare urine, which is not bio-identical), The absolute risk increase was 0.8 women per 1,000. And in further data review, the placebo group they were compared to had a lower than expected incidence of breast cancer, which cancelled out the proposed rise in BC rate. This is why the “negative” study results were walked back. Note that the cohort that were on estrogen only had a 30% reduction in breast cancer & colon cancer, which clearly demonstrated that estrogen doesn’t cause cancer.
