I started looking at your videos to get an idea when I get my vw caddy/pickup from the 80's and I install an 1.8t on it. I really Learned something new thanks for all the tips.
I just watched the whole series back to back and what a great tutorial. I currently have two stock 8v GTI’s, one I want to keep as original as possible and the other is prime for a conversion. This series makes me think that it is something I could attempt myself instead of paying large sums of money to someone else. Hope you had a really good Christmas.
Wow, that escalated quickly 😅 I didn’t expect a start-up this early on. Now you are ahead of me again! I just recieved my wiring harness an am welding my custom downpipe. My engine will come out 1 last time to propperly fit the harness and will then come back to this video for start-up tips 😎💪
Nice!! Happy for you. I'm thinking of going air to water intercooler in the future in order to maintain the nice look of the exterior of the car. Again good stuff.
great tutorial, watched whole 1.8t build, just one thing I need to ask as I'm doing swap myself at moment, what did you do with evap from mk2, deleted or spliced with 1.8t harness?
@@JakeRawSon clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/oem-management-wiring-1-8t-mk2-harness-install-faq.205887/ on this forum he removes both of the plugs for the relays so I guess it's not needed to keep them?
Hi mate looking for major help with my 1.8t can’t get it started and showing up pedal position sensor out, swapped pedal with a new one and still not working, it’s also showing camshaft sensor showing up but I know the timing is spot on, you think there’s a ground wire I’ve missed or bad ECU ground? Or even maybe a bad throttle body would show this problem??
