How to swing a golf club 

I've been struggling for the last couple years. I've went from a 6 Hcp two years ago to an 11 as of today. I have been desperate and tried a number of approaches to improve but they just didn't catch on. "Stack and tilt" and "stay still" to name a couple. The last two rounds I've played I tried your 70% swing and to clear my head before I swing the club. The key was to "swing the club." This simple thought has helped me to get my accuracy and consistency back. I have better distance because I'm swinging through the ball and not "hitting" at the ball. I'm not taking huge right to left divots any more and can't wait to play par 3's again. I can't wait to get back at the course again instead of worrying about how horrible I'm going to play. My golf buddies are even saying that my swing is back and that I'm no longer swatting at the ball. I'm sure this is going to stick with me...thanks.

Back in my 20s, I played golf with an old retired Marine Col. He was in his late 70s at the time. A big drive for him went about 230. He had a brassy fairway wood equivalent to today's 5W. His irons were 6-PW, SW, LW. The man had mastered the wedges. He taught me by example, ball in play, no hero shots, the only shot when in the rough is the safe shot onto the short grass, and learn to pitch with all the irons to at least 7i. His swing was smooth and effortless. Distance did not matter. He had the same philosophy Jimmy has. Repeat the arch, swing easy, clear your mind. My nephew asked me if I ever got tired of hitting straight? Nope.

I just swung the club yesterday! Because of your videos and I can't remember the last time I was so consistent with my swing and it was fun!

I dropped 3 shots over the weekend 44 stableford points 27 point on the back nine was off 21 now my GA is 17.9 dropped 7 shots in 2 months I’ll still driop 3 more shots then it’s just short game practice from there putting chipping pitching bunker play

check this out. Since Jan. of 2024 I've been struggling shooting in the high 80's even shot a high way 101 (California thing). Jimmy, I've been watching your videos that "repeated the same thing" lol - I "just played" and I swung the clubs easy. Almost broke 80.... anyway I'll be back in the 70's (high) soon.
