OMG, this holly sniper software is very difficult to figure out. I've been an industrial controls programmer for 20 yrs and I'm struggling with it, nothing is intuitive. Had to watch this video to figure out that logging isn't recorded unless you stop logging before shutting down the engine, and the software logging button turns from brown to brownish red when you enable logging, I would have programmed that to be red or gray and green, with text that shows, logging on or off, nice design guys, daaa.
I've done a bit of programming, and my take is?? For many computerized devices??/ If they get it to work, they just LEAVE it ALONE!! Virtually no refinements are attempted (Not trashing Holley in anyway, this is an industry wide pheromone .. DECADES old!! If you ever decompiled, or even examined the coding in ANY Video Game ... you get the idea of what I'm saying
My car has this system. My car will die after 35-40 minutes of driving it. It feels like something "heats up" or gets hot and doesnt sends enough gas to the system. I have to wait up to 30 minutes to crank the car back up and start driving it. It will die again. I have called to the "experts" and they tell me to go to Data Log. Does this will restart everything?
The cable to use for data logging on a laptop...is for Sniper 1 not Sniper 2, as they both have different handheld connections. I urge a new video geared toward strictly Sniper 2 to be included within the section "Data Logging." Its the old round peg in a square hole and it will not work for Sniper 2 unless there is a new Cable setup. Cheers!
My Datsun with a 2 barrel carb, falls on its face whenever I’m past 3/4 throttle in 4th and 5th gear. I end up loosing speed and it just motor just sputters. Have zero clue what the issue could be. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it
I can answer this for Holley ... NOPE!! .. this would not even be a consideration. ALTHOUGH when the Bluetooth "Phone App out, it WILL be iPhone compatible, APPS are the exception! .. T he phone app / Bluetooth module, is actually out now .. but with limited operation, they will release free updates in the near future. Right now (mid 2024) it won't load data logs or work as a dash screen yet
Can you please make a revamped program so the system can activate a datalog via TPS like the Hp and Dominator can do? Even if we gotta leave the laptop plugged in .. PLEASE PLEASE
I got tired of carbs and yes...high dollar ones share the same issues. Fuel boil, vapor lock, hard starting after warmed up, etc. Went to EFI and all those issues disappeared. First mistake is made by not reading the instructions, and not following the directions. Have installed Snipers on several vehicles with minimal issues. Go back over the instructions...you may be surprised.
holley sniper system sucks...period...Im a sniper user and countless research finds me very worried about this system. right out of the gate Im having EMI and RF issues, Ive seen countless failures of sniper system with failed ECUs, failed injector connectors and RF and EMI issues, holley has no idea how to design electronics, I ready to resort to a carb.
Dirty power to the Main Connections is a source of issues. The Red and Black need to be connected directly to the battery. EMI issues are caused by Spark Plug wires or having your wiring too close to high power sources like coils, plug wires, or other high voltage wires/cables. Ask me how I know...
I wish they'd show how to data log from the Sniper 2 to the SD Card, then how to look at it on the computer, ... I don't even own a laptop, the ads for Sniper 2 ALL say "No LATOP NEEDED" , and here the narrator just glides past the 3" handheld, as though it is meaningless!!!! ... It cost $250 I want to USE it!!!! Why the hell do they treat info that should on the BOX it came in .... like a state secret?? I saw one video where the narrator said "Or Whatever" three times as part of the instructions???? So just do anything?? Hop on one foot???
